Are You Ready for Hunger Games Land Amusement Park?
bryanenk at Movie Talk1 hr agoWe'd buy a ticket to Panem. And you know you would, too.
Little ol' Lionsgate is really hitting the big leagues now as the studio may be entering the wonderful (and lucrative) world of theme parks. "The Hunger Games" is being eyed for a vacation destination, according to Variety.
Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer made the announcement on Friday morning during a conference call with analysts, saying that the studio had been approached about "Hunger Games" theme parks in two territories. He gave no further details, but surely it was enough to get everyone's imagination running wild.

God of Blunder? Why Thor Chose the Wrong Woman in ‘The Dark World’
Kevin Polowy at Movie Talk11 hrs agoLet's face it: Thor can get pretty much anything he wants.
He's got the strength of the Earth's military forces combined, the popular sex appeal of a Ryan Gosling-Tom Brady-Channing Tatum milkshake, a cool exotic accent (but come on, they also speak in vaguely British accents on Asgard? Where does it end?), a planetary throne as his birthright, and what's gotta be a massive trust fund. He's got a sweet hammer, hangs with an entourage that includes Iron Man and Captain America, and he can fly, too. Not to mention those golden locks.
Unlike Billy Crudup's Russell Hammond from "Almost Famous," Thor is literally a golden god. (It's all enough to get admirers over the fact that dude wears a red cape — and really, think about for a second — wearing a cape is kind of weird.)

Exclusive ‘RoboCop’ Trailer Shows Off a (Literally) Hot New Robo-Suit
bryanenk at Movie Talk23 hrs agoOne thing's for sure about the upgraded Crime Prevention Unit on display in the rebooted "RoboCop": the guy can move .
If you were a kid who grew up in the '80s, chances are you physically imitated Peter Weller as RoboCop at least once. Weller's movements as the resurrected Officer Alex J. Murphy were stiff and specific — he moved like, well, a robot, due to the restrictions of the extremely cumbersome costume he had to endure day in and day out. Jack Black even made a bit out of it in Michel Gondry's valentine to the VHS era, "Be Kind Rewind."
Well, the wardrobe limitations of 1987 are long gone as the new "RoboCop" showcases a suit that simultaneously gives homage to Weller's classic get-up and improves upon it, specifically in the freedom of movement it allows. The new trailer for the film shows our Robo for the 21st century (Joel Kinnaman) engaging in a training exercise that has him running, jumping, twisting and turning about as he makes short work of his targets.

2014 Oscar Predictions: Meet the Lock-Down Winners, Dark Horses … and All Those Also-Rans
Thelma Adams at Movie Talk1 day agoBookmark this page and come back often as Yahoo Movies experts Thelma Adams and Kevin Polowy update their Oscar predictions throughout awards season. Here's Round 1:
It's time for the rubber to meet the road. As movies that were hot out of the gates at the early prestige festivals — Toronto and Telluride — start to meet the marketplace, some rise and some fall. Is the box office behemoth "Gravity" supplanting critical darling "12 Years a Slave?" It's hard to imagine two films more different — a period ensemble drama and a sci-fi two-hander — so there could be a lot of room for maneuvering between those two poles.
POPsessions: Saoirse Ronan Crushes on Zooey Deschanel
Kevin Polowy at Movie Talk1 day agoShe's the blond-haired, blue-eyed wunderkind that awed us in "Atonement" (earning her an Oscar nomination at the tender age of 13) before striking fear into our hearts with the girl-on-rampage thriller "Hanna."
1. What was the first movie you saw ever? I think it was "The Little Mermaid." I remember being in awe of it. I wanted to be Ariel after that … I just loved the lobster, or whatever he is. Loved her red hair. And I actually had an Ariel suitcase for years after that so it was used whenever I was in transit.
2. What movie makes you cry? I watched a film — I'm crying just thinking about it because I'm homesick at the moment — filmed by John Ford called "The Quiet Man." John Wayne was in it, it was a film made in the '50s with Maureen O'Hara, who was an Irish Hollywood actress, and there's a beautiful scene where they kiss for the first time and they're up on the hill and it's raining and it's windy … I got very emotional watching that the other day, probably because it's very Irish. So that makes me cry.

But the bubbly 23-year-old star also got serious discussing the issue of body image acceptance and the media.
