Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, delivered the Summer Budget Statement to the House of Commons on Wednesday 8 July 2015.
The Budget statement sets out the Government's policies following the general election of 7 May 2015 and includes:

Senate approves Buhari’s request on Abuja’s N144bn Budget, extends implementation
The Senate yesterday approved the request of President Muhammadu Buhari to extend the implementation of N114 billion 2015 budget of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to March 31, 2016. President Buhari had last month requested the Senate to extend the budget to March 31. The Senate yesterday suspended its rule 81(6) to give the bill which was listed for second reading accelerated hearing as its passed through second and third reading. Leading the debate on the Bill, the Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume noted that the 2015 FCT budget was approved on May 28, 2015, allowing only seven months for implementation. -

Leading the debate on the Bill, the Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume noted that the 2015 FCT budget was approved on May 28, 2015, allowing only seven months for implementation.

Points to ponder upon, with regards to the Union
Budget 2016.
1. Delhi's share in Central Taxes has not increased
since 2001-2002. Just imagine, Delhi's Budget has
increased from Bs 8739 Cr to Bs. 41,129 Cr from
2001 -02 to 2015-16.
But the share in Central Taxes is frozen at a meagre
Bs 325 Cr. The Delhi Govt has requested the Govt Of
lndia to increase the share in Central Taxes to at least
Bs 5000 Cr.
ls it fair? Delhi Govt deserves its legitimate share,
which is needed for various developmental projects
which are to come.
2. Reimbursement of Enhanced Compensation to
1984 Blot Victims:
Delhi government has already paid about Bs 76 crore
as enhanced compensation to 1984 riot victims in the
current year.
However, in the Union Budget 2016-17, only Bs 10
crore in the current year and just Bs 15 crore in the
next year has been proposed for reimbursement to
3. The local bodies of Delhi deserve non-plan grants
based on performance. Delhi Govt. had requested Bs.
1000 Cr as basic performance grants to Local Bodies.
On the contrary, Delhi Govt is providing 10.5% of
annual tax collections to the Local Bodies.

before deciding on this amount, has ended.
5. We had requested to increase the Normal Central
Assistance to at least Bs 1000 crore in the current
year and Bs 1500 crore in 2016-17. However, in the
Budget, only Bs 49.90 crore as an Additional Central
Assistance has been proposed in the Bevised
Estimate of current year for construction of new
Office Building (S-Block) of Delhi High Court.
The Normal Central Assistance has increased only by
Bs 18 crore (4.6%) i.e. from Bs 394.98 crore in the
current year BE to Bs 412.99 crore in the next year.
The Normal Central Assistance to Delhi during 2000-

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is presenting his third budget, and his big ticket reforms so far have been focussed primarily on the rural and farm sectors, providing relief for farmers under distress. The finance minister said implementing the 7th Pay commission recommendations as well as the OROP will be a considerable burden on the treasury. India News special show with Deepak Chaurasia on Union Budget 2016-2017. With big investments in the rural sector and a break for small tax payers, finance minister Arun Jaitley's Budget 2016 on Monday was largely pro-rural and pro-poor in an attempt to counter months of opposition criticism that PM Modi's is a "suit-boot ki sarkar".
Jaitley announced an allocation of Rs 35,984 crores to improve farmers' welfare. In the cases of natural calamities, a timely flow of credit to farmers is essential Jaitley said, and announced the setting up of a Rs 9 lakh crores credit line, which is the highest ever. He also announced a slew of initiatives for the farm sector including a dedicated irrigation fund worth Rs 20,000 crores, a major Rs 60,000 crores project to develop safe groundwater sources and a Rs 500 crores program for enhanced pulses' production.
Jaitley allocated Rs 5,500 crores to the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

The finance minister said implementing the 7th Pay commission recommendations as well as the OROP will be a considerable burden on the treasury. He also announced moves to improve infrastructure across segment, including reviving under-utilised airports. Meanwhile, the markets have not really reacted well to the Budget and the BSE was down over 100 points around noon.
