AlaskaOne (or Alaska One) is a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member network of public television stations, serving communities in Alaska outside of Anchorage, which has its own PBS channel (KAKM). It is operated by the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
The network's flagship station, KUAC-TV channel 9 Fairbanks, is owned by the University of Alaska. The university also operates a network of repeaters throughout Alaska, all carrying the full AlaskaOne schedule from KUAC.
AlaskaOne's schedule can also be seen on these locally-owned PBS stations, with some local variations:
KYUK-TV channel 4 in Bethel was another AlaskaOne member station that had reportedly ceased operation and had its license deleted by the FCC on March 20, 2009. According to KYUK's website, in 2004 its signal was moved to low-power K15AV. However, it renamed the low-powered TV station as KYUK-LP (now KYUK-LD).
KUAC-TV signed on in 1971 as the first public television station in Alaska. KYUK followed in 1972, with KTOO coming online in 1978. The three stations merged into the AlaskaOne network in 1995.
Aaron Michael Shust (born, October 31, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American Contemporary Christian Music artist on the Centricity Music label. Shust was named the songwriter of the year at the GMA Dove Awards of 2007, and his song "My Savior My God" received the Song of the Year award.
Shust grew up near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He studied music theory at Toccoa Falls College in Georgia. While there he studied Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Sebastian Bach. He also became influenced by U2 and Bob Marley. He began performing at churches and coffeehouses while at college.
Shust began leading worship at Perimeter Church, Duluth, Georgia in 2000 and recorded his album, Anything Worth Saying in 2004 with producer Dan Hannon who delivered the album along with a stack of others along to Brash Music for consideration. Brash Music signed Shust shortly thereafter.
His second single "My Savior My God" was released January 20, 2006. The song was played on Christian radio stations around Christmas 2005. The song was listed at No. 19 on Radio and Records chart three weeks before the single was officially released to radio.
Mark Peter Begich ( /ˈbɛɡɪtʃ/; born March 30, 1962) is the junior United States Senator from Alaska and a member of the Democratic Party. A former mayor of Anchorage, he served on the Anchorage Assembly for almost ten years prior to being elected mayor in 2003. In the highly competitive 2008 Alaska Senate election, Begich defeated incumbent Ted Stevens, the longest serving Republican member of the Senate of all time.
Born in Anchorage, he is the son of U.S. Representative Nick Begich, who disappeared and was presumed dead following a 1972 plane crash. He graduated from high school and has taken continuing education classes at University of Alaska Anchorage, but does not have a college degree. At age 26 he was elected to the Anchorage Assembly. After serving as chairman for three years, he left the Assembly in 1998. Begich ran two unsuccessful campaigns for mayor in 1994 and 2000. He was finally elected in 2003, winning a narrow three-way race by 11 votes.
Begich handily won the Democratic nomination in the state's 2008 U.S. Senate election. He faced longtime incumbent Republican Ted Stevens, who was facing ethics and corruption charges during his re-election campaign. Stevens was convicted of felony violations a week before the election, (all charges were later dismissed, and conviction was set aside by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, due to prosecutorial misconduct). The controversy before the election was enough to cause doubt and Begich won by a narrow margin.

A four-member R&B group from Chicago, One Chance consists of Rob Brent, Courtney Vantrease, and brothers Jon Gordon and Michael Gordon. Their first single released was "That's My Word" (a fifth member who subsequently left the group can be seen in its video). In 2006, their single "Look at Her" reached number 53 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. "U Can't", released in March 2008, peaked at number 73 on the Billboard R&B songs chart.
Originally slated for release in late 2006, their debut album, Private, was repeatedly pushed back and eventually shelved, and the group was dropped by US Records. The group's debut album is now planned to be self-titled.
