Ciaran Gausselin, first weeks, film debut, August 2008
My great friends Chris and Regan have had their first baby!! I visited Los Angeles in August and met a pregnant Regan, the size of a small house. We went for dinner with her husband Chris, one of my best friends in the world. I then went to Stanford and San Francisco to film. When I came back (a week later) little Ciaran was already born and moving around on his own. Thankfully I had a HD camera on loan from Sony to capture this. Also thankfully, Adobe gave me the software to edit. Hope you like the video? Glad they gave him an Irish name!!!
Hugh.

Emmet Cahill - 'My Irish Molly'
MY IRISH MOLLY-O (Performed by Emmet Cahill)
Molly dear now did you hear, the news that's goin' round
Down in a corner of my heart, a love is what you've found
And every time I look into your eyes of Irish blue
You seem to whisper in my ear ‘My love is all for you.' Oh
Chorus:
Molly, my Irish Molly, my sweet acushla dear
I'm fairly off my trolley, my Irish Molly
When you are near
Springtime, is only ‘ringtime’
Come dear now don't be slow
Change your name, go on your game, Begora wouldn't I do the same My Irish Molly O
Molly dear now did you hear I furnished up the flat
Three little cosy rooms ‘n a bed ‘n a 'welcome' on the mat
It's five pounds down and two a week, she'll soon be out of debt
It's all complete except, they haven't brought the cradle yet, Oh
Chorus:
Molly, my Irish Molly, my sweet acushla dear
I'm fairly off my trolley, my Irish Molly
When you are near.
Springtime, is only ‘ringtime’
Come dear now don't be slow
Change your name, go on your game, Begora wouldn't I do the same My Irish Molly O
Molly dear, and did you hear what all the neighbours say
About those hundred sovereigns you have safely stowed away
They say that's why I love you. Ah but Molly, that's a shame
If you had only ninety-nine I'd love ya just the same
Ohhhh, Ohhhh
Chorus:
Molly, my Irish Molly, my sweet acushla dear
I'm fairly off my trolley, my Irish Molly
When you are near
Springtime, is only ‘ringtime’
Come dear now don't be slow
Change your name, go on your game, Begora wouldn't I do the same My Irish Molly O
Change your name, go on your game, Begora wouldn't I do the same My Irish Molly O

A Dog's Purpose (from a 7-year-old).
A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year-old).
Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker 's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.
The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.'
Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.
He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The Six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'
Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

Passing place - Zennor
Hals’ History of Cornwall—c1730
The following description is quoted from [Hals 1750] and must be read in the context of about 1730 when it was written. The extract is taken from [Polsue 1868].
Zennar is situated in the hundred of Penwith, and hath upon the north, the Irish sea, north-east, Tywidneck, south, Maddarne. For the name, if it be compounded of Sen-nar, it signifies Holy Pool or Lake; otherwise, if it be a corruption of Se-nar or Seynar, English Cornish, it signifies the sea lake, or creek of the sea; and the church is situated in a valley near the sea, with a rivulet of water flowing by it.
The above is taken from West Penwith Resources. http://west-penwith.org.uk/zennor.htm
