Vitamins, mineral supplements deemed waste of money
A top medical journal strongly advised most Americans to stop taking vitamins, saying they are largely useless and can be dangerous. REPTILE YOUTH 'MY YOKO ONO' Music Video
What do you get when you blend 37 motion graphics students from Hyper Island with 2.5 days and an image of Willy Wonka’s Oompa Loompa factory?
My Yoko Ono music video entertains the concept that we are all operated by a higher order, becoming ‘Puppets of technology’, entrusting the digital (FB) to archive our secrets. The film opens with a medical journal – design magazine hybrid, meant to simulate parents thumbing through a baby catalogue when gene selecting their perfect child.
We switch between worlds, seeing the un-hazardous duo Mads and Esben being birthed to in an incubator, operated by Hyper Island students who rotate facial expressions and manipulate skin types.

UNIVERSAL TAI CHI
SHOT WITH A NIKON D90 - Universal Tai Chi
My friend Dr. Ming Wu came to visit me this past weekend and we decided to make a tai chi video for beginners. This is a very simple exercise and a good way to relieve stress and tension that we may have from everyday life.
Ming Wu Ph.D is a third generation herbalist who has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Qi Gong, and Tai Chi with his father, Muqing Wu, since 1972, at the age of seven. In 1981, he attended the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangzhou, China. In May 1986, he received his doctorate in TCM and worked for Chouchow Hospital to practice TCM. In 1988, he was honored as Director of the China Taoist Qi Gong Research Association and taught Qi Gong. In 1989, after teaching and conducting research in his native China, he came to the United States, created Chinese Herb institute while teaching Tai Chi, Tui Na & Qi Gong. He then met three Chinese masters living in the U.S. and continued his studies in Tai Chi & Chi Gong. In 1990 he studied Classical Yang Style Tai Chi with the fifth-generation lineage practitioner of the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Grandmaster Gin Soon Chu. In Sring 2009 he was authorized to teach Classical Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan by Grandmaster Gin Soon Chu. He has dedicated his life to healing and teaching other how to lives. Qi Gong and Tai Chi is an integralelement of Dr. Wu's healing practice and is supported by his years of reseach in energy, medicine, and meditation.
With over 20 editorials published in Chinese Medical Journal, he is recognized in The Annals of China's Contemporary Famous Doctors of TCM. At the Henan TCM Institute he was invited to be a special researcher of TCM. At the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine he was invited as a Project professor. He also returns to China frequently to practice TCM with his colleagues and acquires new knowledge. He was awarded the “Outstanding Doctor Gold Medal in the 2000 World Traditional Medicine Day. In June of 2002, his article Clinical Study on the 56 cases of Oophoritic Cyst by the Treatment of Sun Garden NU BAO/Women's treasure was selected for an Outstanding Papers Award at the first World Conference on Oncology and TCM at Stanford University, California. In November 2004, he received his Ph.D. of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Philosophy at American Global University. Since 1987, he has conducted many seminars in China, the United States, Europe, Jamaica, and Bermuda.

Vivisezione: alcuni dati - Animal testing: some facts
Music: Pieces Form The Whole by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross
The topic of animal testing is becoming more and more popular. What facts do we know about this approach to research? For those who doesn't understand Italian (the most of you, I hope :) here you'll find the english version
https://vimeo.com/68294408
Otherwise you can read the translation. Enjoy!
"The vast majority of the population sees animal testing as cruel yet necessary for medical progress.
In an article on the British Medical Journal, 5 authors asked: Where is the evidence that animal research benefits humans?
The answer is that there is no such evidence.
There are many differences among animal species:
- arsenic is harmless for toads, sheeps and porcupines; to humans it is poisonous
- amanita phalloides is harmless for cats; it is poisonous to humans
- aspirin is lethal for cats, is isn't for us
- chloroform is cancerous to femal rats; it is harmless to male rats
- morphine is a sedative for rats and humans; it is a stimulant for horses and cats
- AIDS, hepatitis B, malaria are lethal for humans; it isn't at all for chimpanzees
Overall 92% of new drugs passing animal testing later fails human trials (Pubmed, UK)
Scientists have developed tests that are far more accurate:
- MRI, CAT and PET scans
- Stem cell
- DNA chips
- Microfluidics chips
- Human DNA, cells and donated tissues and organs
- Microdosing in the human body
- Computer modelling
- Autopsy
- Clinical observation
- Epidemiology
None of them uses animal testing nor takes it as an option.
Until authorities keep relying on vivisection for the drug approval process, this business won’t stop growing.
Animal testing takes money away from more effective research.
Clearly, animal tests are failing to protect people.
Let’s replace them with 21st century science.
What you can do:
01. Support the European Initiative Stop Vivisection. Sign and collect signatures.
www.stopvivisection.eu
02. Many popular charities use donations to fund animal testing.
Don’t support them.
For a list of charities that do not fund research on animals:
http://www.humaneseal.org/search.cfm?ap=y
http://www.animalaid.org.uk/h/n/campaigns/experiments//281//
03.Take action in the political, social and medical fields and make medical research change.
04. In many countries students have the right to refuse to vivisect animals: what about your country?

Arafat poisoned to death: Medical journal
A report by one of the world's leading medical journals has supported earlier findings that Yasser Arafat, the late leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization, was poisoned to death nearly a decade ago. According to British journal the Lancet, Arafat was poisoned with the radioactive element polonium 210. The journal published a peer review of last year's research by Swiss scientists, who have been researching the suspicious circumstances surrounding Arafat's death. The earlier work "found high levels of the highly radioactive element in blood, urine, and saliva stains" on Arafat's "clothes and toothbrush," according to a report on Al Jazeera. In July 2012, experts at Lausanne University, Switzerland, said they had evidence Arafat might have been poisoned with polonium. The investigation into Arafat's mysterious death led to the exhumation of his body in November 2012 for further testing. The decision to exhume Arafat's body was made after French prosecutors opened a murder probe into his death in August 2012 following the discovery of high levels of polonium on his personal belongings. Arafat died in 2004 at the age of 75 in a Paris military hospital. The analysis at the time was that he had a rare blood disorder.- published: 12 Oct 2013
