Statkraft is a Norwegian state owned electricity company. With a total energy production of 44.9 TWh in 2007, the Statkraft Group is the third largest energy producer in the Nordic region, as well as the largest energy producer based on renewable energy sources in Europe, consisting of 40% of the production in Norway. Including the subsidiaries Skagerak Energi and Trondheim Energi, the group has some 2100 employees. The company has its headquarters in Oslo, Norway.

Hydroelectric power provides the majority of Statkraft's renewable energy; it operates 133 plants in Norway, 12 in Sweden and four in Finland. The company also operates two windfarms in Norway, Smøla Wind Farm and Hitra Wind Farm, in addition to district heating in Trondheim and gas power and hydroelectric power in Germany.

Statkraft owns 100% of Trondheim Energi. In addition it has partial ownership of Skagerak Energi (66,62%), Naturkraft (50%), SN Power (50%), Bergenshalvøens Kommunale Kraftselskap (49,9%), Agder Energi (45,5%), E.ON Sverige (44,6%) and Småkraft.

Edvard Munch (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈmʉŋk], 12 December 1863 – 23 January 1944) was a Norwegian painter and printmaker whose intensely evocative treatment of psychological themes built upon some of the main tenets of late 19th-century Symbolism and greatly influenced German Expressionism in the early 20th century. One of his most well-known works is The Scream of 1893.

Edvard Munch was born in a rustic farmhouse in the village of Ådalsbruk in Løten, to Christian Munch, the son of a priest. Christian was a doctor and medical officer who married Laura Catherine Bjølstad, a woman half his age, in 1861. Edvard had an elder sister, Johanne Sophie (born 1862), and three younger siblings: Peter Andreas (born 1865), Laura Catherine (born 1867), and Inger Marie (born 1868). Both Sophie and Edvard appear to have inherited their artistic talent from their mother. Edvard Munch was related to painter Jacob Munch (1776–1839) and historian Peter Andreas Munch (1810–1863).

The family moved to Christiania (now Oslo) in 1864 when Christian Munch was appointed medical officer at Akershus Fortress. Edvard's mother died of tuberculosis in 1868, as did Munch's favorite sister Johanne Sophie in 1877. After their mother's death, the Munch siblings were raised by their father and by their aunt Karen. Often ill for much of the winters and kept out of school, Edvard would draw to keep himself occupied, and received tutoring from his school mates and his aunt. Christian Munch also instructed his son in history and literature, and entertained the children with vivid ghost-stories and tales of Edgar Allan Poe.

Michael Cathel Fallon (born 14 May 1952, Scotland) is a British Conservative Party politician. He is the Member of Parliament for Sevenoaks, and as of September 2010 the deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party.

Michael Fallon is the son of a surgeon. He was educated at Craigflower School in Dunfermline, at Epsom College and at the University of St Andrews, where he obtained a MA in classics and ancient history in 1974.

After graduation he joined the Conservative Research Department, working first for Lord Carrington in the House of Lords until 1977 and then as European Desk Officer until 1979. In 1979 he became research assistant to Baroness Elles.

In July 1982 he was chosen as Conservative candidate for Darlington and fought the Darlington by-election on 24 March 1983 following the death of Ted Fletcher, the Labour MP. Although he lost to Labour's Ossie O'Brien by some 2,412 votes, just 77 days later he defeated O'Brien by 3,438 votes in the June 1983 election. He remained the MP there until the 1992 General Election when he was defeated by Labour's Alan Milburn by a margin of 2,798 votes.
