'SMOKING BULL'
'Smoking Bull' was an idea and concept created by me to raise the profile of the world renowned Aberdeen-Angus breed around the globe.
I wanted to capture the power and presence of it's iconic image by filming a series of black on black sequences in stunning close-up HD detail.
To enable this we created a Hollywood style film-set in a Scottish barn and brought in a special effects lighting and film crews.
By black draping the entire area and incorporating dry ice and smoke with gel filters in the back lights - on a cold and frosty evening high on a Scottish hillside - we had exactly the correct atmospheric and climatic conditions to achieve the shoot we wanted.
HRH The Prince of Wales - who was invited to introduce the film - allowed us to film him at his home at Highgrove House. His sequence is contained in the long version of the film.
This is the condensed version which has been viewed by thousands worldwide.
Enjoy!

How can we close the gap between climate science and public opinion?
On 27 September 2013, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) releases the Fifth Assessment Report of its working group on the science of climate change. Thousands of scientists from the world’s leading research bodies, including the CSIRO, together with thousands more expert reviewers, contribute to the assessment of climate science by the IPCC. The reports of the IPCC set the context in which international climate negotiations take place, national climate policy is developed, and many firms make long-term investments.
Ahead of the report's release we interviewed 20 climate scientists from the University of New South Wales, University of Melbourne, Monash University and CSIRO to find out how we can close the gap between the science and public opinion.

Professor Ann Henderson-Sellers
Ann Henderson-Sellers is a highly cited author of over 500 publications on climate and climatic change. Prior to holding her current position as an Australian Research Council Professorial Fellow at Macquarie University, she was Director of the United Nations’ World Climate Research Programme and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of RMIT. Ann is an elected Fellow of Australia’s Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and was awarded the Centenary Medal of Australia for Service to Australian Society in 2003.
Professor Steve Sherwood
Co-Director, Climate Change Research Centre
Steve explores the physics of the atmosphere as it relates to climate, with emphasis on theory and observations of cloud processes and their connections to the atmospheric circulation, water vapour, temperature distributions, and Earths radiation budget; ways in which these connections will control how water vapour, precipitation, and clouds behave in a changing climate.
Professor Andy Pitman
Andy Pitman is co-lead of the UNSW Climate Change Research Centre. He is a member of the Academy of Science’s National Committee for Earth System Science, a member of the Science Steering Committee for the International Geosphere Biosphere Program’s iLEAPS committee and the World Climate Research Programme’s GLASS steering committee.
