A news presenter (also known as newsreader, newscaster, anchorman or anchorwoman, news anchor or simply anchor) is a person who presents news during a news program in the format of a television show, on the radio or the Internet.

News presenters can work in a radio studio, television studio and from remote broadcasts in the field especially weather forecasters.

A newscaster (short for "news broadcaster") is a presenter of news bulletins. This person may be working in the field of broadcast journalism as a journalist and electronic news gathering (ENG) as well as a participant in compiling the script with a television producer to be delivered in a news bulletin.

Prior to the television era, radio-news broadcasts often mixed news with opinion and each presenter strove for a distinctive style. These presenters were referred to as commentators. The last major figure to present commentary in a news broadcast format in the US was Paul Harvey.[Dunning, John. "The Encyclopedia of Old Time Radio."] Today, commentary is generally presented in the longer-form talk show format. The term "newscaster" came into common use to distinguish presenters of straight news broadcasts from commentators.

Reza Aslan (Persian رضا اصلان, born May 3, 1972) is an Iranian-American activist, a nationally acclaimed writer of religions. He is on the faculty at the University of California, Riverside, and is a contributing editor for The Daily Beast. Nicole Brewer (born April 15, 1983) is a former Miss Pennsylvania from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who now works as a news reporter.

Nicole Brewer joined CBS 3 and The CW Philly’s Eyewitness News team in April, 2008 as local television’s first digital journalist, reporting primarily for the station’s websites. She is currently a general assignment reporter weekdays on the CBS 3 and The CW Philly morning shows 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Before joining CBS 3, Brewer had been a feature reporter and producer for the nightly news magazine Tempo at WLVT, the PBS station in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. While there, Brewer helped write, produce and report on “Kids and Gangs: A Tempo Special Report,” which won a 2008 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award. She was also recognized by the Associated Press in 2009 for her feature, “Parents on Facebook.”

A native of Philadelphia, Brewer grew up in the Overbook section of the city. She then graduated from Marple Newtown Senior High School in 2001 and Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 2005, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in speech communications. During her college years, Brewer was president of the National Broadcasting Society. She also served as business manager for the University cable station, MUTV and as a lead anchor for News 99. Brewer interned at WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and worked as a special assignment reporter for GATV, Public, educational, and government access (PEG) community access cable television station in Greeley, Colorado.

Russell Joseph Howard^{[citation needed]} (born 23 March 1980) is an English comedian and presenter best known for his TV show Russell Howard's Good News and his appearances on the topical panel TV show Mock The Week. He won "Best Compère" at the 2006 Chortle Awards and was nominated for an if.comedy award for his 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show.

Howard has two younger siblings, twins, Kerry, an actress, and Daniel, a systems analyst who suffers from epilepsy, a fact which Howard often references during his act. Indeed, in April 2010, Howard ran the Virgin London Marathon for the first time with both his brother and sister, to raise money for the National Society for Epilepsy. He completed the 26 mile course in 4 hours and 15 minutes, beating his target time of 5 hours. Sponsorship has raised over £7,000 to date.

Howard supports Liverpool Football Club and says that he is "deadly serious" about football. "I still go down the pub and play football with my mates", he commented in 2010.

In terms of political views, Howard appeared at Friends of the Earth's LIVEstock comedy and music event at the Hammersmith Apollo in support of the green campaign group's Food Chain Campaign for planet-friendly farming, on 12 November 2009.

Jane Hill (born 10 June 1969) is a British newsreader working for the BBC. She is one of the main presenters on the BBC News Channel, the corporation's 24-hour rolling news service, and is a relief anchor for the BBC News at One, as well as regularly presenting the BBC Weekend News. She also occasionally presents The World Tonight on BBC Radio 4.

Born in Sussex, she was raised in London. She first joined her local BBC Radio station as a junior music correspondent, but knew little about the local indie bands.

After studying politics at Queen Mary, University of London, Hill worked at the Democratic National Headquarters in Washington DC before joining the BBC on a full-time basis at the end of 1991.

After completing the BBC journalism training programme, Hill joined BBC Radio Five Live at the station's launch, remaining there as a producer for 18 months. She moved into television following completion of the BBC Regional News Trainee Scheme. She went on to join BBC Radio Berkshire and South Today as a presenter, before moving later to national news.
