The weather here is pretty temperate, but it is overcast and cloudy for 9 months out of the year. In contrast, it's actually really nice in the Summer. It's actually the largest city in Washington, and along with Spokane, Tacoma, Portland, and other Pacific Northwest towns, one of the best cities to live in America. A lot of people are moving from California and all over to the Emerald City, making it one of the fastest growing and most expensive cities in the United States. If the Evergreen State has the best economy with lots of tech jobs, why shouldn't you live in Seattle, WA?

☆ TIPS ON GETTING HERE ☆
1. To see Mt. Rainier from the plane (if clear enough):
If flying north into Seattle, sit on the starboard side.
If flying south out of Seattle, sit on the port side.
This is based on flying to/from California.
2. If the winds are going south, then you'll fly over downtown Seattle before landing. So look outside for a beautiful view!
3. If you're driving here, you'll get a beautiful of the city, no matter which direction you're coming from.
4. To get to the city from the airport: Link Light Rail, app-based rideshare, car rental, Gig car share

i/siˈætəl/) is a West Coast seaport city and the seat of King County. With an estimated 662,400 residents as of 2015, Seattle is the largest city in both the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest region of North America. In July 2013 it was the fastest-growing major city in the United States, and remained in the top five in May 2015 with an annual growth rate of 2.1%. The Seattle metropolitan area of around 3.6 million inhabitants is the 15th largest metropolitan area in the United States. The city is situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound (an inlet of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canada–United States border. A major gateway for trade with Asia, Seattle is the third largest port in North America in terms of container handling as of 2015.
The Seattle area was previously inhabited by Native Americans for at least 4,000 years before the first permanent European settlers.Arthur A. Denny and his group of travelers, subsequently known as the Denny Party, arrived from Illinois via Portland, Oregon on the schooner Exact at Alki Point on November 13, 1851. The settlement was moved to the eastern shore of Elliott Bay and named "Seattle" in 1852, after Chief Si'ahl of the local Duwamish and Suquamish tribes.

"Seattle" is a song, which was composed by Hugo Montenegro and whose lyrics were written by Jack Keller and Ernie Sheldon, which was used as the theme for the 1968-70 ABC-TV U.S. television show Here Come the Brides, which was situated in 19th-Century Seattle, Washington.
Performances
Late in the show's first season, singer Perry Como recorded a version of the song, which became a Top 40 hit for him on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts in early 1969. One of the stars of Here Come the Brides, pop singer Bobby Sherman, also recorded a version of the song, but his version was never released as a single.
Two different versions were used as the theme for the television series, for both of which Montenegro conducted an in-studio orchestra: the first was instrumental; and the second was vocal, with its lyrics being sung by a musical team called "The New Establishment."
"Seattle" is sung by the Seattle Sounders FC's supporter groups, during matches, specifically at the kickoff of each half.

2. Summer - long days, best chance of a sunny day, thriving plants, everyone is outside enjoying the weather
3. Fall - cooler weather, fall foliage (peak fall colors around the end of October)
4. Winter - grey and wet, low chance of seeing the sun, snow in the surrounding mountains
☆ TIPS ON GETTING HERE ☆
1. To see Mt. Rainier from the plane (if clear enough):
If flying north into Seattle, sit on the starboard side.
If flying south out of Seattle, sit on the port side.
This is based on flying to/from California.
2. If the winds are going south, then you'll fly over downtown Seattle before landing. So look outside for a beautiful view!
3. If you're driving here, you'll get a beautiful of the city, no matter which direction you're coming from.
4. To get to the city from the airport: Link Light Rail, app-based rideshare, car rental, Gig car share

William Richard "Bill" Frisell (born March 18, 1951) is an American guitarist, composer and arranger.
One of the leading guitarists in jazz since the late 1980s, Frisell's eclectic music touches on progressive folk, classical music, country music, noise music and more. He is known for using an array of effects to create unique sounds from his instrument.

‘Sleepless in Seattle’ is a 1993 American romantic comedy-drama film directed and co-written by Nora Ephron, based on a story by Jeff Arch. It stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, alongside a supporting cast featuring Bill Pullman, Ross Malinger, Rob Reiner, Rosie O'Donnell, Gaby Hoffmann, Victor Garber, and Rita Wilson.
After Chicago architect Sam Baldwin loses his wife Maggie to cancer, he and his eight-year-old son Jonah start a new life in Seattle, Washington, but Sam continues to grieve. A year and a half later, on Christmas Eve 1992, Jonah—who wants his father to find a new wife—calls in to a radio talk show. Jonah persuades a reluctant Sam to go on the air to talk about how much he misses Maggie. Hundreds of women from around the country who hear the program and are touched by the story write to Sam. One of the listeners is Annie Reed, a Baltimore Sun reporter who is engaged to amiable Walter but feels there is something missing from their cordial relationship. After watching the film An Affair to Remember, Annie impulsively writes a letter suggesting that Sam meet her on top of the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day. She does not intend to mail it, but her friend and editor Becky does it for her and agrees to send Annie to Seattle.
Jonah flies to New York without his father's permission and goes to the Empire State Building searching for Annie. Distraught, Sam follows Jonah and finds him on the observation deck. Meanwhile, Annie sees the skyscraper from the Rainbow Room where she is dining with Walter and confesses her doubts to him, amicably ending their engagement. She rushes to the Empire State Building just moments after the doors to the down elevator close with Sam and Jonah inside.
In spite of the observation deck being deserted, Annie discovers a backpack that Jonah left behind. As she pulls out Jonah's teddy bear from the backpack, Sam and Jonah emerge from the elevator, and the three meet for the first time. On the advice of the elevator operator, Sam indicates they should go and offers his hand to Annie. The three then enter the elevator together before the door closes.

Jonah persuades a reluctant Sam to go on the air to talk about how much he misses Maggie. Hundreds of women from around the country who hear the program and are touched by the story write to Sam. One of the listeners is Annie Reed, a Baltimore Sun reporter who is engaged to amiable Walter but feels there is something missing from their cordial relationship. After watching the film An Affair to Remember, Annie impulsively writes a letter suggesting that Sam meet her on top of the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day. She does not intend to mail it, but her friend and editor Becky does it for her and agrees to send Annie to Seattle.
Jonah flies to New York without his father's permission and goes to the Empire State Building searching for Annie. Distraught, Sam follows Jonah and finds him on the observation deck. Meanwhile, Annie sees the skyscraper from the Rainbow Room where she is dining with Walter and confesses her doubts to him, amicably ending their engagement. She rushes to the Empire State Building just moments after the doors to the down elevator close with Sam and Jonah inside.
In spite of the observation deck being deserted, Annie discovers a backpack that Jonah left behind. As she pulls out Jonah's teddy bear from the backpack, Sam and Jonah emerge from the elevator, and the three meet for the first time. On the advice of the elevator operator, Sam indicates they should go and offers his hand to Annie. The three then enter the elevator together before the door closes.

The weather here is pretty temperate, but it is overcast and cloudy for 9 months out of the year. In contrast, it's actually really nice in the Summer. It's actually the largest city in Washington, and along with Spokane, Tacoma, Portland, and other Pacific Northwest towns, one of the best cities to live in America. A lot of people are moving from California and all over to the Emerald City, making it one of the fastest growing and most expensive cities in the United States. If the Evergreen State has the best economy with lots of tech jobs, why shouldn't you live in Seattle, WA?

1. To see Mt. Rainier from the plane (if clear enough):
If flying north into Seattle, sit on the starboard side.
If flying south out of Seattle, sit on the port side.
This is based on flying to/from California.
2. If the winds are going south, then you'll fly over downtown Seattle before landing. So look outside for a beautiful view!
3. If you're driving here, you'll get a beautiful of the city, no matter which direction you're coming from.
4. To get to the city from the airport: Link Light Rail, app-based rideshare, car rental, Gig car share

Seattle
Seattle (i/siˈætəl/) is a West Coast seaport city and the seat of King County. With an estimated 662,400 residents as of 2015, Seattle is the largest city in both the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest region of North America. In July 2013 it was the fastest-growing major city in the United States, and remained in the top five in May 2015 with an annual growth rate of 2.1%. The Seattle metropolitan area of around 3.6 million inhabitants is the 15th largest metropolitan area in the United States. The city is situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound (an inlet of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canada–United States border. A major gateway for trade with Asia, Seattle is the third largest port in North America in terms of container handling as of 2015.
The Seattle area was previously inhabited by Native Americans for at least 4,000 years before the first permanent European settlers.Arthur A. Denny and his group of travelers, subsequently known as the Denny Party, arrived from Illinois via Portland, Oregon on the schooner Exact at Alki Point on November 13, 1851. The settlement was moved to the eastern shore of Elliott Bay and named "Seattle" in 1852, after Chief Si'ahl of the local Duwamish and Suquamish tribes.

‘Sleepless in Seattle’ is a 1993 American romantic comedy-drama film directed and co-written by Nora Ephron, based on a story by Jeff Arch. It stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, alongside a supporting cast featuring Bill Pullman, Ross Malinger, Rob Reiner, Rosie O'Donnell, Gaby Hoffmann, Victor Garber, and Rita Wilson.
After Chicago architect Sam Baldwin loses his wife Maggie to cancer, he and his eight-year-old son Jonah start a new life in Seattle, Washington, but Sam continues to grieve. A year and a half later, on Christmas Eve 1992, Jonah—who wants his father to find a new wife—calls in to a radio talk show. Jonah persuades a reluctant Sam to go on the air to talk about how much he misses Maggie. Hundreds of women from around the country who hear the program and are touched by the story write to Sam. One of the listeners is Annie Reed, a Baltimore Sun reporter who is engaged to amiable Walter but feels there is something missing from their cordial relationship. After watching the film An Affair to Remember, Annie impulsively writes a letter suggesting that Sam meet her on top of the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day. She does not intend to mail it, but her friend and editor Becky does it for her and agrees to send Annie to Seattle.
Jonah flies to New York without his father's permission and goes to the Empire State Building searching for Annie. Distraught, Sam follows Jonah and finds him on the observation deck. Meanwhile, Annie sees the skyscraper from the Rainbow Room where she is dining with Walter and confesses her doubts to him, amicably ending their engagement. She rushes to the Empire State Building just moments after the doors to the down elevator close with Sam and Jonah inside.
In spite of the observation deck being deserted, Annie discovers a backpack that Jonah left behind. As she pulls out Jonah's teddy bear from the backpack, Sam and Jonah emerge from the elevator, and the three meet for the first time. On the advice of the elevator operator, Sam indicates they should go and offers his hand to Annie. The three then enter the elevator together before the door closes.
