Great White Hope (1970, trailer)
https://www.daaracarchive.org/2009/10/great-white-hope-1970.html
Boxer Jack Jefferson (James Earl Jones) is the world's reigning heavyweight boxing champion. There's just one problem, he is also the first black heavyweight champion, and that bothers a lot of people. Jack's celebration is cut short, as Jack is framed for crossing a state line with Eleanor, his white fiancé (Jane Alexander in her first film role), a violation of the Mann Act. Facing a prison sentence, Jack escapes to Europe, with Eleanor in tow, encountering problems in England, and then France, and eventually landing in Cuba. In Havana, Jack agrees to enter the boxing ring for what might be the bout of his life. Both Jones and Alexander were nominated for Oscars. *************************************************************...

Reporter: Ross Coulthart

The mantra of marine experts is that the risk of being taken by a shark while swimming, surfing or diving is so miniscule it’s not even worth thinking about. But it seems lately the rate of shark attacks has been increasing dramatically. Every new incident, every tragic death or horrific injury, invariably leads to heated debate about the need to cull sharks so humans can be safe in the water. On 60 MINUTES, a breakthrough which could save man and beast – new technology whose makers are confident will keep us apart. But as Ross Coulthart reports, there's only one way to find out if it really works and that involves getting very close to very large sharks.

Snoop also praised Dr. Dre's huge influence in rap and hip-hop
Snoop Dogg has revealed in a new interview that Eminem doesn’t make the cut in his list of the top 10 rappers of all time.
“Eminem! ‘The Great White Hope’. White rappers had zero respect in rap. Let’s keep that one thou-wow,” Snoop said. “Dre has probably put Eminem in the position where he would be considered one of the top 10 rappers ever.
“I don’t think so, but the game feels like that he’s top 10 lyricists and all that that comes with it. That’s just because he’s with Dr. Dre. and Dr. Dre helped him find the best Eminem that he could find.”
“There’s some n****s in the 80s that [Eminem] can’t fuck with,” Snoop continued. “Like Rakim, like Big Daddy...

Snoop Dogg says Eminem isn’t in his list of the top 10 rappers of all time
Snoop also praised Dr.
“Like Rakim, like Big Daddy Kane, like KRS-One, like LL Cool J … Like Ice Cube.”
“it is what it is”, but maintained that Eminem “did that to the fullest” and is still “one of my teammates, one of my brothers”.
why Eminem doesn’t make his top 10 list, Snoop went on to list a number of rappers who he rates higher than the Detroit artist.
Speaking to The Breakfast Club yesterday (July 29)episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, Wayno and DJ Akademiks start off the show discussing Level Magazine’s list of the 40 best rappers over the age of 40. They debate the criteria of the list and DJ Akademiks gives his top 5 rappers over 40 that are actively rapping noaways. , Snoop began by recalling Dr. Dre‘s rise from N.W.A. to co-founding Death Row Records and becoming “the dopest producer in hip-hop”.
Going on to praise Dre for successfully discovering rap talents across the US, Snoop cited Eminem as an example of an artist who had their career launched by Dre.

Ladies and gentleman, ladies and gentlemen, your attention please
In this corner wearing white from the City of the Big Shoulders
The number one contender in a ten round exhibition for your entertainment
So when the bell sounds, prepare yourselves for the main event
When I was a young man
I had to kick and scratch and claw
Now it's like top gun in the old west
Everybody wants me to draw
If I had known it would be like this
I might have given it a second thought
But if someone had told me to give it up
It's a line that I wouldn't have bought
Look at me, I'm the great white hope
Can't you see, I'm up against the ropes
Don't you know it's so hard to cope
When you feel like the great white hope
Look at me, I'm the great white hope
Can't you see, I'm up against the ropes
Don't you know it's so hard to cope
When you feel like the great white hope
Now you've paid your money
You're sittin' in your ringside seat
And I know that some of you out there
Might wanna see the champ get beat
If I had known it would be like this
I might have given it a second thought
But real life sure isn't like school
There's some lessons that just can't be taught
Look at me, I'm the great white hope
Can't you see, I'm up against the ropes
Don't you know it's so hard to cope
When you feel like the great white hope
Look at me, up against the ropes
Look at me, so hard to cope

Look at me, great white hope
Look at me, up against the ropes
Look at me, so hard to cope
