Tide

Tides are the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of gravitational forces exerted by the Moon, Sun, and rotation of the Earth.

The times and amplitude of tides at a locale are influenced by the alignment of the Sun and Moon, by the pattern of tides in the deep ocean, by the amphidromic systems of the oceans, and the shape of the coastline and near-shore bathymetry (see Timing). Some shorelines experience a semi-diurnal tide - two nearly equal high and low tides each day. Other locations experience a diurnal tide - only one high and low tide each day. A "mixed tide"; two uneven tides a day, or one high and one low, is also possible.

Tides vary on timescales ranging from hours to years due to a number of factors. To make accurate records, tide gauges at fixed stations measure the water level over time. Gauges ignore variations caused by waves with periods shorter than minutes. These data are compared to the reference (or datum) level usually called mean sea level.

Tide (transportation company)

Tide ASA is a public transport company in Hordaland, Norway which resulted from the merger of Gaia Trafikk and Hardanger Sunnhordlandske Dampskipsselskap (HSD). The company provides the public transit network in the city of Bergen, and most of the bus service in Hordaland on contract with Skyss. Tide also runs the buses in northern Rogaland on contract with Kolumbus.

The group has two daughter companies, Tide Buss AS that operates the scheduled busses, and the leiseure travel company Tide Reiser AS that also operates express, airport and charter buses and chartered ferries and fast passenger craft. The largest owners are Det Stavangerske Dampskibsselskap (75%) and Sparebanken Vest (10%). The company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange with head offices in Bergen.

Formerly, Tide operated the passenger- and car ferry routes previously operated by HSD and Stavangerske, with the daughter company Tide Sjø.

"Misunderstood" is a single by American rock band Bon Jovi, released in 2002. It is from the album Bounce. The song was featured on the 2003 Brazilian soap opera Mulheres Apaixonadas as a theme of the love couple (Edwiges and Cláudio). The song was a big hit there, making the song a Top 5 hit.

Music video

The video begins with a girl, Jill, opening the door to her room where she and her boyfriend, Jack, live. As she enters, she catches both Jack and another woman naked in bed. Shocked and embarrassed, Jack claims that it isn't what it looks like and begs her to let him explain. The video turns into a flashback and the music begins. The flashback shows Jack's far-fetched explanation with his dialogue displayed at the bottom of the screen and Bon Jovi playing the song throughout. Here is Jack's dialogue:

"I was buying you flowers...I slipped and hit my head...I was unconscious...someone stole my wallet...I had amnesia...I wandered aimlessly...I found the pick-pocket...and chased him...into a bad situation! They put me in a box...and dumped me into the river! I floated for hours...finally I landed ashore...I just wanted to go home...but I was mistakenly arrested...and put behind bars. They finally caught the real crook...I ended up outside a secret club...I was front row at a Bon Jovi concert...and my memory came back! I was attacked by dogs...they ripped my clothes off...finally I made it to your bedroom...and just then an earthquake hit...and this girl fell through the ceiling!"

Misunderstood (Mötley Crüe song)

"Misunderstood" is a power ballad by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, released on their 1994 eponymous album. The lyrics were written by vocalist/guitarist John Corabi and bassist Nikki Sixx, while the music was written by Corabi, Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee and guitarist Mick Mars. The song charted at number 24 on the Mainstream rock charts.

"Misunderstood" was released as a maxi-single that included three other tracks; a remix of the song, "Hooligan's Holiday" (Extended Holiday Version), the non-LP track "Hypnotized," and the album version of "Hooligan's Holiday." "Hypnotized" was later included on the Crücial Crüe edition of the album in 2003. "Misunderstood" would be the last Mötley Crüe single to feature John Corabi on vocals.

Music video

A video was made to promote the single, and was directed by Brian Lockwood. The video, which featured the band playing in front of an old house while showing clips of the characters mentioned in the song, first aired in May 1994.MTV refused to air the video as there was a suicide reference in the lyrics and a man putting a pistol in his mouth in one of the scenes. This is widely believed to be a smokescreen for what was punishment for an interview with the band when the album was first released, earlier in the year. Bassist Nikki Sixx felt insulted by the MTV interviewer's line of questioning and walked out of the interview. Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee later appeared on the MTV program, Headbanger's Ball, when a third video, for the album's tenth track, Smoke The Sky was filmed and also directed by Brian Lockwood. This video was aired, but only a few times.This is the band's third video to be rejected from MTV, following Girls, Girls, Girls & You're All I Need.

Misunderstood (Robbie Williams song)

"Misunderstood" is a song by British pop singer Robbie Williams, it was released as the second single from Williams' hits compilation Greatest Hits in late 2004, peaking at number 8 in the UK Singles Chart. The song was also featured on the Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason soundtrack.

Music video

The music video incorporates some of the plot of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason into it, including some clips of the movie. Williams is interrogated by Thai officials. At the end of the video when the main interrogator says that if Williams keeps acting up, he might be there a long time. Williams asks, "How long is a long time?". The interrogator answers, "Oh, about a millennium", to which Williams answers by turning to the camera and singing his song "Millennium". Robbie Williams stated that the song was written because of his love of Edward Scissorhands, in which the protagonist of the film was misunderstood.
