Anthony "Amp" Elmore is a 5 time World Karate/Kickboxing Champion who lives in Memphis, Tennessee. Elmore traveled to Kenya in 1990 to premier his autobiographical movie titled the Contemporary Gladiator. While on Safari at the Massai Mara Plains in Kenya Elmore notes that he was visited by "African Ancestral Spirits." The feeling was so overwhelming that Elmore cried tears. The African Ancestors asked me to tell African Americans to come home to Africa. Elmore took groups to African for over a decade. In 1992 he met Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi. Elmore explained his passion to President Moi who called Elmore an African Ambassador. In 1995 Elmore married a Kenyan Woman, while they are no longer married they have a 14 year old son named Anthony "Amp" Elmore Jr. who is 1/2 Kenyan like President Barack Obama Jr. In 1998 Elmore traveled to Accra, Ghana and he entered the African Import Business. Elmore noted that Africa does not have a "Trade Infrastructure" and in order to be successful in African trade there needs to be a "Trade Infrastructure established." Elmore tried unsuccessful at getting the attention of African Governments regarding the design and establishment of an "African Trade Infrastructure." While Africa lacked a "Trade Infrastructure" Elmore noted that all of Africa lacks a "Simple Cultural Integration" that would allow 100's of 1000's of African Americans to visit Africa. Elmore notes that the African American GDP is 1.1 trillion dollars however all of Africa lacks the resolve to develop a "Simple Cultural Integration" whereas African Americans will travel and invest in Africa. Elmore created the 1st All African Styled home in America and he designed an African Styled Tuxedo for President Obama that was accepted by while and President Obama sent Elmore a thank you note. In 2010 Elmore via Congressman Cohen Elmore met with the Embassies of Ghana, Ethiopia and Kenya. Kenya Ambassador Peter Orgeo loved Elmore's ideas and promised to assist him at getting his message to Kenya. In 2011 When Elmore was ready to move Kenya changed Ambassadors and Kenya's new Ambassador Elkanah Odembo summed Elmore as a crazy American and he shut the door in Elmore's face. Elmore asked Congressman Cohen to assist and Memphis Steve Cohen wrote a letter to the Kenya Ambassador asking his to take another look at Elmore's ideas regarding Kenya. In a letter dated January 11, 2012 Elmore noted to Congressman Cohen that the Kenyan Embassy was not following the "Spirit of Tom Mboya" and the Kenyan Embassy was not following the Kenyan motto of "Harambee." Kenyan Ambassador Odembo met with Elmore and Congressman Cohen in February of 2012. Clearly in the meeting the Kenyan Ambassador wanted nothing to do with Elmore and he refused to discuss Elmore's ideas. Elmore after driving 16 hours from Memphis to Kenya was crushed to tears in that Elmore lost twice. Elmore lost all of the years he had worked to help Kenya, even more devastating Elmore lost the support of a United States Congressman. Congressman Cohen has worked assisting Elmore since 2007 and the fact that an African Ambassador would not even listen to Elmore it seems caused Congressman Cohen to wipe his slate clean of dealing with Africa.The south African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool met with Elmore and he liked the idea. The South African Ambassador asked Elmore to give him 90 days and the liked the idea. In February of 2013 a Kenyan pastor living in exile in Canada by the name of Okoth Otura saw a video that Elmore posted on You Tube. The pastor called Elmore and asked him about the Video. Elmore explained that he had been visited by African Ancestors Spirits and the "Spirits of Kenyan Leader Tom Mboya had visited him." The Kenyan Pastor explained to Elmore that the "Luo People" of Western Kenya believe in Ancestral Spirits and he should re-consider doing the celebration in Kenya. After months of conversations it was stated by the "Luo Council of Elders" that Elmore should come to Kenya right away. Without hesitation Elmore drained his savings, shut his business and told his wife that the "Spirit of his Ancestors" called him to Kenya. Elmore's wife who is Ethiopian understood that her husband has been troubled with a strong passion for Africa that borders insanity. A PHD economist in Kenya hosted Elmore and he was taken around all over Western Kenya. Elmore's 1st stop in Kenya was Rusinga Island where Elmore offered a prayer and a song. Elmore met with 5 Kenyan Governors who supported his program called the "Safari Initiative" The last and most important Governor that Elmore visited was the Governor of Nairobi Evans Kidero. Governor Kidero asked Elmore to get his paperwork in order and he would take the idea to Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
