The Long-nosed Vine Snake (Ahaetulla nasuta) is quite common throughout it's range. The Long-nosed Vine Snake is nocturnal and spends most of it's time in trees and other vegetation. It feeds on lizards, geckos, and small birds. It is mildly venomous, but poses no real danger to people and is usually quite docile, although a long lasting bite can cause headaches and swelling. I was once bitten for about 10 seconds and only experienced extreme itchyness for 3 hours and mild swelling. It can be identified by the extremely pointy nose and horizontal pupils. This snake is most often seen crossing roads at night. They can grow to 135 cm long and as thick an adults smallest finger. Please comment, like and subscribe.
