Medscape is a web resource for physicians and other health professionals. It features peer-reviewed original medical journal articles, CME (Continuing Medical Education), a customized version of the National Library of Medicine's MEDLINE database, daily medical news, major conference coverage, and drug information—including a drug database (Medscape Drug Reference, or MDR) and drug interaction checker. All content in Medscape is available free of charge for professionals and consumers alike, but registration is required.

Founded in New York's Silicon Alley in May 1995 by SCP Communications, Inc. under the direction of Peter Frishauf, Medscape, Inc. had an IPO in September, 1999, trading on NASDAQ under the symbol MSCP (a tip-of-the-hat to its founding company, SCP, and to Netscape, whose symbol was NSCP). In May, 2000 Medscape merged with another public company, MedicaLogic, Inc. MedicaLogic filed for bankruptcy within 18 months, and sold Medscape to WebMD in December 2001.

In February, 1999, noted medical editor Dr. George D. Lundberg was hired as the editor-in-chief of Medscape. For 17 years prior to joining Medscape he had served as Editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association. Lundberg served in this role until he was terminated by WebMD in 2008. On January 30, 2009 it was announced that no new articles would be accepted for the Medscape Journal of Medicine, a Medscape journal Lundberg started in 1999.^[1]

A comparative analysis of Medscape Drug Reference versus Wikipedia concluded that drug monographs on Medscape Drug Reference were more comprehensive and Wikipedia articles had more errors of omission.^[2] That conclusion caught the attention of mainstream media.^[3]

Medscape was birthed to solve a problem. The problem was that physicians were overwhelmed with information, but straining to access and focus on the knowledge that would actually improve patient care. Medscape's co-founding team saw an opportunity to help solve this problem by:

• Collecting clinically-relevant medical literature from multiple medical publishers
• Filtering the literature from a "who should see this" persective, as opposed to the print "what can we fit in this issue" perspective
• Publishing the literature online in an easy-to-print, easy-to-read, easy-to-access format
• Making it freely available to everyone

He is currently playing the role of Yash in Punar Vivah on Zee TV.

Gurmeet Choudhary was born in Chandigarh to Sitaram Choudhary, originally from Patna, Bihar. He was mainly brought up in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. During his school days, he was involved in conceptualizing and acting in plays. While his brother chose to enter the medical profession, Gurmeet decided to become an actor. Gurmeet Choudhary also did modeling in his early days .

In 2006, Gurmeet debuted as the negative character in Indian television's first 3D TV series, Mayavi, a Tamil production by GV Films for Jaya TV which was later dubbed for the Telugu and Malayalam television.

Choudhary's next appearance on television was as Lord Ram, for the religious series Ramayan. He later participated in a reality series Pati Patni Aur Woh.

He got his big break with STAR One channel's popular series Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi opposite female lead Drashti Dhami, where he essayed the role of a complex business magnate. This series has been earning him wide accolades for his method acting. He is currently seen in Zee TV's Punar Vivah as Yash opposite Kratika Sengar.

Udit Narayan Jha, popularly known as Udit Narayan is a playback singer in commercial, Maithili language, Hindi, Kannada, Nepali, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Garhwali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Oriya, Assamese, Maithili and Bengali language cinema. Narayan has sung in 32 different languages.^[1] He has won three National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards. In 2009, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

Udit Narayan Jha was born on 1 December 1955 in a village called Bhardaha in the Saptari district, Nepal.^[2] His father was Hare Krishna Jha and his mother was Bhuwaneshwari Devi.

Narayan studied at P.B. School, Rajbiraj, where he passed his S.L.C.(class 10) and later obtained his intermediate from Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus, mostly known as RR campus Kathmandu.

Udit Narayan began his career in Nepal singing for Radio Nepal as a staff artiste for Maithili and Nepali folk songs. He sang many popular nepali folk, modern songs in Radio Nepal. His first filmy playback singing was for Nepali film Sindur.It was a comedy song for famous nepali comedians (Late) GopalRaj Mainali (Chankhe) and Basundhara Bhushal (Nakkali). It was a duet song with Sushmaa Shrestha now known as Poornima in Hindi film Industry. After eight years in that role, Indian Embassy offered him the chance to study classical music at a prestigious school in Bombay, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan on a music scholarship. He moved to Bombay in 1978.

He got his first break in 1980, when noted music director (composer) Rajesh Roshan asked him to playback for the Hindi film Unees Bees, and was given the opportunity to sing with the veteran Mohammed Rafi. He later provided playback for a number of films, the most notable being Sannata (1981), Bade Dil Wala (1983) and Tan-Badan (1986). The actual success story of his career began in 1988 when Anand-Milind gave him the oppportunity to sing all the songs for the successful Bollywood movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, earning him a Filmfare Award.^[3] The film also brought actor Aamir Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and playback singer Alka Yagnik to stardom. After the success of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, he became one of the leading playback singers in the Indian film industry.

He has worked with musicians like Rahul Dev Burman, Rajesh Roshan, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Kalyanji-Anandji, Bappi Lahiri, A. R. In 2004, he released his first private Nepalese album, Upahaar, in which he also sang duets with his wife Deepa Jha. Narayan is a resident of Mumbai.^[4] He is married and has one son. His second wife Deepa Narayan, whom he married in 1985, is a singer, and the two recorded an album together titled Dil Deewana. Their son is Aditya Narayan who is a former child actor, singer and television presenter. Aditya Narayan started his singing for child artists in Nepali film with his father before starting his singing career in Hindi movies in the 1990s and also acted in a few films.
