Treacle Tart - Harry Potter or Harry Wales
I've never made a treacle tart for Harry Potter, but I know it's his favorite. i have made a treacle tart for Harry Wales though, many times. In the Royal nursery when Prince Harry and Prince William were young and into their teen years. It's a delicious traditional British comfort food and served hot or cold with whipped cream, ice cream or lashings of custard no wonder it has been on the Brits (and Royal) menus for years. Even The Queen enjoyed treacle tart and it was often on her menu (and requested by her) at Buckingham Palace.
It's the perfect alternative to the American pecan pie, a delicious and interesting change on the Thanksgiving table.

How to make a deliciously sweet and tempting Treacle Tart made with Lyle's Golden Syrup. Easy to make - and a crowd pleaser pudding that everyone loves!
Enjoy warm or chilled, with a spoonful of crème fraîche, ice cream or a jug of custard. For a lighter version of this recipe, just cut down on the pastry and leave off the lattice top. Leftovers (if you have any!) can be stored for 2 days in an airtight container.

Old-English Treacle Tart: A Classic Recipe Revived
Treacle tart is a traditional English dessert known for its rich, sweet flavour.
Treacle tart emerged in the late 19th century in England. The tart became popular due to the widespread availability of treacle, a byproduct of the sugar refining process. Golden syrup, a type of light treacle, is commonly used in this dessert.
The classic recipe for treacle tart includes golden syrup, lemon zest, and fresh bread crumbs. The lemon zest adds a citrusy counterpoint to the sweetness of the syrup. Some variations may include other ingredients like ginger or cream, but the basic components remain the same.
While the traditional recipe remains popular, modern variations of treacle tart can be found. These might include additions like almonds, chocolate, or different types of citrus to add complexit...

Treacle Tart Recipe | How To Make Treacle Tart Old School Pudding
Treacle Tart Recipe that is one of those old school puddings that many of us remember and love! This treacle tart also uses golden syrup which is a popular ingredient and will please those with a sweet tooth, who love traditional desserts.
Treacle tart is just as good as a treacle sponge in my opinion. It deserves lashings of hot custard, cream or a good ice cream to go with it. So if you have ever wanted to know how to make treacle tart then this recipe should help you. Some people know this as golden syrup tart, and they would be correct as it does contain golden syrup and not treacle.
Why not bring back some food nostalgia in your home, by making one of the best British desserts!

TREACLE TART
Serves 6-8
The pastry;
¾ cup plus 2Tbs granulated sugar
¾ cup plus 2 Tbs unsalted butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla paste
3 ½ cups flour
1/4 cup cold water
Cream the butter and sugar until light in color. Add the egg, water and vanilla paste then slowly incorporate the flour to form a ball. Wrap the paste in parchment paper and refrigerate for at least an hour before use.
This recipe will make more pastry than you need for this one tart, but I always like to have some in the refrigerator spare and it keeps for at least three weeks.
The filling;
1 lb tin golden syrup
2 cups (about 7 slices) fresh white breadcrumbs
juice of 1 lemon
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees f
Roll out the pastry to about ½ inch thick and line an 8 inch flan ring or pie dish. Blind bake to allow the crust to set a little.
In a large bowl combine the golden syrup, breadcrumbs and lemon juice and spoon into the lined pastry case.
Bake in the center of the oven for about 30 minutes or until the pastry edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Slice and serve with Ice cream, whipped cream or English custard.
