It’s one eventful moment after the other after the night they share
their first - second, third, fourth, and who’s really counting
anymore - kiss.
There’s their first date, where they spend hours looking at beautiful, thought-provoking art. And yet Sharon still feels her lungs tighten, momentarily breathless later that night when her eyes trace the curves of Andrea’s face in the pale moonlight as they stroll along the beach.
The Fourth of July,
which is a Wednesday and a workday for them both, they find a little
time to stop by Lisa’s house for the party they were invited to but
warned her they probably couldn’t attend. It’s the first time Andrea
kisses her in public, soft and quick, without thought, passing her a
bottle of water and walking away. It surprises her, not then, because
they’ve already fallen into the habit of sharing little kisses
without thought, but later, when they’re walking towards the car and
she realizes it, when she notes how natural it had felt.
