Overtaking a series of trains - Pragati Exp. (July 1995)
The fact that the Pragati Exp. is a high-priority train was confirmed when we overtook three trains between Karjat and Ambarnath. These first two are the prestigious Chennai Exp. (now MS-DR superfast) and the Bangalore-Kurla Exp. (now CBE-LTT), respectively. The third is an unknown passenger.

Bhopal Shatabdi Loco Ride at 150 kmph!!
In order to recover lost time, the driver notched up to 150 kmph. As soon as I stuck my head out, I was greeted with an air blast that threatened to rip my camcorder away. Couldn't hear a thing above the deafening roar! A thrilling experience, indeed! For a music video from the same trip, check this out - www.youtube.com .

Tamilnadu Exp., Loco Controls and more - Bhopal Shatabdi Footplate (Aug. 1995)
Just after crossing Nizamuddin, we met the inbound Tamilnadu Exp. with its fleet of 21 coaches. A little over half of the coaches had a cream-brown livery which was initially being used on all air braked rakes at that time. After that, I was back to learning more about the various cab controls.

Eventful Departure from Hubli - Sharavati Exp. (Aug. 1, 2007)
Just outside Hubli, we encountered a variety of rolling stock including WDM3D, WDG4, WDM2. We halted right next to a MUed WDG4-pair in order for the incoming Janshatabdi to cross us. After the lines to Gadag branched-off, I was treated to ALCO smoke-n-sounds.

Overtaken by the Bangalore Rajdhani at Itarsi - 2621 Tamilnadu (Dec. 2000)
Probably the most high-profile overtake at that time! Both TN and SBC Raj. had a technical halt at Itarsi. 20 minutes after our arrival, the NZM-bound Rajdhani showed up. Since a freight train was blocking my line-of-sight, I was forced to step out of the platform limits to capture the approaching train. And then, I took a calculated risk to hop onto the foot overbridge to get a closer look at the Raj. I was rewarded with simultaneous departures of the tri-colored Swarnajayanti and the Rajdhani. 8 minutes after that, we were on our way towards Bhopal.

Eventful Halt at Bilaspur - Howrah-Mumbai Duronto (Aug. 10, 2011)
First, I observed dinner being loaded into the pantry car. Soon after that, the Kalinga Utkal Exp. departed towards Anuppur. Around the same time, a python rake entered the station with two "Barbie Doll" WAM4s in the middle, one of which was alive. The video ends with a quick shot of the CBC coupling between two coaches.

(HD) Through the Spectacular Western Ghats - An MG Experience!! (Aug. 12, 2007)
Select footage from an enthralling trip aboard the Punalur - Tirunelveli MG passenger. The Punalur - Bhagavathipuram line cuts through the Western Ghats to connect Kerala with Tamilnadu and is, unquestionably, one of the most spectacular sections in IR. The best time to undertake this trip is in the monsoon season where one gets to enjoy the lush green foliage. Note how the train grinds its way through steep slopes and curves. The bridge at the 3:19 mark is a heavily photographed viaduct. Hope they keep MG alive!

Giridhar, Dinesh, Samar, VSP, Lalaam and I gathered near the rear of the train in order to witness the banker attachment. We watched with interest how one person repeatedly hammered the buffer in order to lower the clamp, while another engaged the hoses.
