Transfer window: Brian moves

Liverpool missing Alonso's influence
This week I've made another video.

Wasn't that an unbelievable goal by Maynor Figueroa. Surely that's the goal of the season already.
And what about those lobs? Amazing.
Do you also remember Xabi Alonso's in the FA Cup against Luton? That was from even further out than the one against Newcastle. Just ridiculous. He's a brilliant striker of the ball.
With everything that's going on at Anfield this season, Alonso will be delighted to be in Madrid. Things are that bad Jamie Carragher has admitted he's even been praying every night before bed that Liverpool win the FA Cup or the Europa League.

Derby a must-win game for Liverpool and Everton
Life is utterly miserable for football fans on Merseyside at the moment. And I'm not even talking about Tranmere supporters, whose team are lying a depressing 24th and last in League One.
For Liverpool fans, their season has been one massive letdown, their hopes of Premier League and Champions League glory already dashed.
As for Everton supporters, they must be wondering what on earth's going on. Fifth last season, their team looks like they'll be lucky to finish in the top 10.
With both sides struggling so badly, this weekend's match has got even more riding on it than a normal derby. It's a must-win game for both teams.

Inquiry into winning Cup jockey's use of the whip
Winning jockey Corey Brown is expected to be investigated for illegal use of the whip on Shocking at the finishing post in Tuesday's Melbourne Cup.
Brown could face a hefty fine or suspension if a stewards inquiry today finds that his ''celebratory gesture'' and alleged unnecessary use of the whip breached controversial new rules on whipping, writes Lorna Edwards.
