Revelation 17:9 tells us there are 7 kings and that five are fallen and one is. The 7 kings are the kings of those empires that have conquered or taken captive the people of God since the book of Exodus. These are: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo Persia and Greece -these are the five that are fallen Rome, this is the one that is and the 7th and the 8th are yet future under the Antichrist. Each of the empires were tied in with false gods and idolatry and their king believed that he was a descendant or a chosen one of the gods, and the names they took are the names of the one true God and His Son Jesus Christ. The name of blasphemy are as follows: 1. Kingdom-Egypt- Name of Blasphemy Pharaoh who used the name the good god the good shepherd The god worshipped Ra 2nd Kingdom-Assyria Name used, Name of Blasphemy. The Assyrian king took the name the son of god , father of gods The god was Asher, Kings names often included Ashur. The Assyrian flag contained an image of Ashur.The Kingship was a sacred institution rooted in heaven, the king was the son of god in human form. His Mother was Mullissu also identified with Ishtar the Queen of heaven of Nineveh. Kingdom No. 3 Babylonia Name of Blasphemy The King took the name god or My son of god the god worshipped was Marduk originally Bel which means lord The Kings took the name of Marduk or Nebo, the son of the god Violation of Babylonian laws was also an offense against the gods. Kingdom No. 4 -Medo-Persia Name of Blasphemy of the King-king of kings, king of the four corners of the world, king of the world The god worshipped Ahura Mazda-the god of good words, good thoughts and good deeds. The religion followed was Zoroastrianism and the magus were followers of Zoroastrianism and Rabmag, which means chief of the magus is mentioned in Jeremiah 39:13 in reference to Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom. Now While Darius was a follower of Ahura Mazda, Cyrus acknowledged all gods and referenced in the Cyrus cylinder his pleasing Marduk. He believed he was chosen by Marduk which was also referred to as Bel which we also read in the Old Testament, Bel is mentioned along with Marduk. Cyrus’s subjects revered him to the point of referring to him as “the father.” Kingdom No.5 Greece Name of Blasphemy -son of god The god was Zues and other Egyptian, Persian and Greek gods Alexander the great believed he was the son of Zues conceived by a virgin birth and that he was a demi-god linked to the blood line of Achilles and Herakles. He honored Egyptian, Persian and Greek gods and used religion to inspire loyalty. Sixth Kingdom-Rome-which was a consolidation of Roman, Greek and absorbed all other pagan gods, And Rome like Babylon was steeped in superstition, divination and omens. Name of Blasphemy of the Emperor- Deliverer, savior, god on earth god worshipped Roman gods and Greek gods which sometimes overlapped, so they combined those gods into one. Romans were open to other gods from around the world they did not hear of. While the names of blasphemy for the 7th and 8th head are yet future, we have a good idea of their names based on what the Bible predicts in the book of Daniel.
