A fan club is a group that is dedicated to a well-known person, group, idea (such as history) or sometimes even an inanimate object (such as a famous building). Most fan clubs are run by fans who devote considerable time and resources to supporting them. There are also "official" fan clubs that are run by someone associated with the person or organization the club is centered around. This is the case for many musicians, sports teams and more.
Larger fan clubs may organize events and fundraising relating to what they are based on. In some cases the money that is raised goes directly to the people the fan club is based around or to fund the fan club itself.
Today, many fan clubs have web sites to support their adoring efforts. These sites usually have photos and information on the object of their affection. For example, a fan site dedicated to musicians might have photos, videos, discussion boards, and information on upcoming concerts.

well i'm craving for a cigarette
hey gimme a light
feeling kinda thirsty
gimme somethin' that bites
sure been hangin' round here
for much too long
all you crazy people waitin' for my song
i said
(chorus)
well here i a-am
just another one night stand
anyway i don't know why i'm sad.........
for my fan club
waitin' for my autograph
well you must be mad
standing in the pissing rain
must be a drag
but if that's what you wanna do
i won't say no
and if you wanna see more of me
see me after the show
i said
(repeat chorus)
(solo bit)
you send me pretty flowers
while i'm slashin' my wrists
i'd read those little letters
through my smashed out mists
the dream i shock you
is my nightmare
i'm the freak that's on display
so stand and stare

Hey hey, happy man, smiling as he leaves the book store
Carrying his carrier bags all bulging wide
Such a lucky man, such a lot to line your shelves with
Starts to hurry so that he can get
Inside
Each book it overflows with violent murder
That he can read about in bed when he gets home
It chills him to the bone
chorus
'cos he loves Jeffrey Dahmer
And he loves the son of Sam
And he loves reciting segments
From 'The Silence Of The Lambs'
And he worships Charlie Manson
Wishes he was Eddie Gein
He's a member of the fan club
For the criminally insane
Hey hey, smiling man, smiling, leaves the local art house -
Just seen 'Henry' for the thousandth time
Don't walk - he skips along, calls in at the old newsagent
To see if his magazine's come in on time
It has a label screaming: ADULTS ONLY
And lovingly details all the latest gruesome crimes
He laps up every line
chorus
Hey hey, happy man, smiling while his aunt & uncle have
Fun force-feeding him with tea and cakes
Glibly sipping sits, mind-undressing antique figures
Briskly stiffens when he hears his aunt y say:
"well, ain't that awful about that girl being murdered"
His uncle nods and bellows: "string the bastards up !!"
Our man just grips his cup
