8mm Wedding Only Titles June 22nd, 1957
Complete digital transfer by Helge Bernhardt of the available 8mm color film exposed on June 22nd, 1957, prepared with music by Peter Dizozza, From the Cinema VII Audial visual archive. with If I Ever, Tiffany Symbol Search, Stay With Me and excerpt from The Ocean Floaters Theme Song (by Peter Dizozza. CVII Audial Recordings.) CopyrIghts reserved and administered by the Cinema VII Alternate Entertainment Collective, 2013. Dear Viewers, I remember Monica and I wishing we could have been there, but of course we weren't born. This movie records moments from our parents' wedding day. My recollection of the film and the people in it returns like an avalanche not naturally but only as a result of my viewing the film, so its existence uncovered is another mystical movie miracle. Sure, there's plenty of back story. A sampling for now is the phone call that my mother receives while she's preparing her wedding dress. She 's telling the fellow on the line asking her for a date that she must decline. I remember her saying that to us and seeing the movie now I do believe that is true. Her grandmother is the woman at the beginning of the movie, with her second husband beside her. The story comes back to me now like a reflex: She lost her first husband when he was wheeling a sanitation cart. He got hit by car and crawled up the stairs to the apartment where he died. The new husband brought along his own family of children and in order to show those children that people in New York had to work for a living, my great grandmother sent her fighter son to work on the 2nd avenue subway where he was promptly hit by a train???? And that's why future political leader Meade Esposito promised to take care of my mother's mother, the fighter's sister. Her fighter brother was named Redsy. Pictures of my great grandfather suggest that when he died he looked younger than his own son... I see aunts and uncles from my father's side of the family, but no, not him. He's not in this movie. For all you Floater fans: the film of the boat at the dock that follows the wedding footage... it really does follow the wedding footage.- published: 17 Jan 2014

Chhup Chhup chhaliya *Suvarna Sundari(10-5-1957)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suvarna_Sundari Suvarna Sundari is a popular Telugu film produced in 1957 in the golden era of Telugu film industry. It was directed by Vedantam Raghavaiah and produced by P. Adinarayana Rao under the Anjali Pictures banner. Suvarna Sundari had Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Anjali Devi, Rajasulochana, Relangi and Gummadi in the lead roles. It was later made in Hindi starring Ranjan and Anjali Devi in lead roles. The songs 'kuhu kuhu bole koyaliya' and 'mujhe na bula' are still very popular semi classical songs. The shooting of the film was held at Venus Studios, Madras and the outdoor shooting was held at 'Shimsa' Falls, Mysore. The film was released through Chamria Talkie Distributors headed by Sundar Lal Nahata, set a record at the box-office by celebrating 50 days in 48 centres and completed 100 days in 18 centres. The film was remade in Hindi and Tamil languages. The music was a great success and P. Adinarayana Rao won the best music director in Hindi. This is a Folklore story of a Gandharva kanya loving a human prince. Jayanth (ANR) gets ousted from the kingdom. He meets Suvarna Sundari (Anjali Devi) who comes to earth on every Kaarteeka Pournami day. They love each other. Lord Indra comes to know about their love and curses Suvarna Sundari. As a result Jayanth forgets her. She loses her child near the river. How the two protagonists reunite forms the story. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malkaush The name Malkaush is derived from the combination of Mal and Kaushik, which means he who wears serpents like garlands — the god Shiva. However, the Malav-Kaushik mentioned in classical texts does not appear to be the same as the Malkauns performed today. The raga is believed to have been created by goddess Parvati (the wife of Shiva) to calm Shiva, when the lord Shiva was outraged and was not calming down after Tandav in rage of Sati's sacrifice. Malkaush belongs to Shaivait musical school; in fact most pentatonic ragas belong to Shaivait musical school. The best time for this raga is late night. The effect of the raga is soothing and intoxicating. http://www.songsofyore.com/film-songs-based-on-classical-ragas-5-the-majestic-malkauns-2/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0257209/- published: 20 Mar 2014

Chuck BERRY "Oh Baby Doll" (1957) !!!
RARE OLDIES VIDEO WITH MR CHUCK BERRY ! Charles Edward Anderson "Chuck" Berry (born October 18, 1926) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. With songs such as "Maybellene" (1955), "Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957) and "Johnny B. Goode" (1958), Chuck Berry refined and developed rhythm and blues into the major elements that made rock and roll distinctive, with lyrics focusing on teen life and consumerism and utilizing guitar solos and showmanship that would be a major influence on subsequent rock music. Born into a middle-class family in St. Louis, Missouri, Berry had an interest in music from an early age and gave his first public performance at Sumner High School. While still a high school student he served a prison sentence for armed robbery from 1944 to 1947. On his release, Berry settled into married life and worked at an automobile assembly plant. By early 1953, influenced by the guitar riffs and showmanship techniques of blues player T-Bone Walker, he was performing in the evenings with the Johnnie Johnson Trio. His break came when he traveled to Chicago in May 1955, and met Muddy Waters, who suggested he contact Leonard Chess of Chess Records. With Chess he recorded "Maybellene" — Berry's adaptation of the country song "Ida Red" — which sold over a million copies, reaching No. 1 on Billboard's Rhythm and Blues chart. By the end of the 1950s, Berry was an established star with several hit records and film appearances to his name as well as a lucrative touring career. He had also established his own St. Louis-based nightclub, called Berry's Club Bandstand. But in January 1962, Berry was sentenced to three years in prison for offenses under the Mann Act — he had transported a 14-year-old girl across state lines. After his release in 1963, Berry had several more hits, including "No Particular Place to Go," "You Never Can Tell," and "Nadine," but these did not achieve the same success, or lasting impact, of his 1950s songs, and by the 1970s he was more in demand as a nostalgic live performer, playing his past hits with local backup bands of variable quality. His insistence on being paid in cash led to a jail sentence in 1979 — four months and community service for tax evasion. Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986, with the comment that he "laid the groundwork for not only a rock and roll sound but a rock and roll stance." Berry is included in several Rolling Stone "Greatest of All Time" lists, including being ranked fifth on their 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll included three of Chuck Berry's songs: "Johnny B. Goode," "Maybellene," and "Rock and Roll Music."Today, at the age of 86, Berry continues to play live.- published: 27 Dec 2013
