Webcam video from December 29, 2012 11:58 AM
KODA, known as "Sunny 99.1", is an FM radio station licensed to Houston, Texas. The station's transmitters are in Missouri City, Texas. It is a mainstream adult contemporary station, marketed to the at-work listener. The station, formerly simply identified as K-O-D-A or "Coda" and 99.1 at least since the late 1970s-early 1980s (when it was a member of Group W), relabeled itself as "Sunny" in 1989 when it was acquired by SFX (now Clear Channel). The programming of adult and soft-rock music did not substantially change. Between and including Thanksgiving and Christmas, the station plays Christmas music 24/7.
All new smooth jazz can also be heard on 99.1 HD-2 (HD Radio needed).
The "Sunny" branding was also used on sister station KEGL-FM in Dallas, Texas, broadcasting Oldies AC music from 2004-2005. History
The station signed on Christmas Eve 1946 as KPRC-FM, the FM station for KPRC 950 AM. It was on 99.7 MHz until 1947 when it moved to 102.9 MHz. In 1958, the FM station was sold and changed call letters to KHGM-FM, changed to the current frequency in 1959, and then changed calls again to KODA-FM in 1961, right before the AM station was purchased (now KLAT). It operated as a daytime simulcast until the AM station had to shutdown at sunset and continued the station's programming independently until the AM signed on again at sunrise again. The AM & FM combination was sold to Group W Westinghouse Broadcasting in 1978 and was shortly broken up when the AM station was quickly re-sold.
When the Houston Oilers were a National Football League team (they are now the Tennessee Titans), it was the flagship radio station for at least the 1986 season.[1]
When the Electronic Program Guide aired on Warner Cable, KODA was used as the audio in Houston.
Notable syndicated programming includes Delilah's Love Songs show on weeknights (replacing long time Houston institution Zoe Bonet's Love Songs) and "American Top 10 Countdown" with Casey Kasem on Saturday mornings. Current Competitors

KNIK-TV ( now KNIC-TV) Channel 10 Final Sign-off 2012
This is a sign-off from a fake TV station. It is only an editorial like WKBS-TV 48's final signoff. It it very close having the same message of WKBS-TV 48's final sign-off.
It is a special kind of video. When you see the 10 Editorial video, you say
" And now a channel 10 editorial."
When you see this guy on the video, you say this message.
"Tonight completes the last day of the broadcasting operations of KNIK-TV, channel 10, LAGOS Television Inc. for Big Pine, Bishop, Mammoth Lakes, Independence, Lone Pine, June Lake, Bridgeport, and Coleville. On April 17, LAGOS Television Inc. announced that it would cease operation of the station and that it will change its callsign to KNIC-TV.
Channel 10 began its broadcast operations on September 4, 1954, under the ownership of Westinghouse broadcasting. Through those fifty-eight years of operation, we have endeavored to best serve all interests of the Eastern Sierra. The commitment of all of our station's employees has been dedicated to you, our viewers. Over the years, we have presented all types of programs to the people of the Eastern Sierra. Channel 10's efforts have been recognized by many broadcast professional awards, and more importantly, by our viewers. Channel 10 as an entity, and our employees as individual citizens, have been deeply involved in our community; we have been unselfish over the years by giving literally thousands of hours of personal time to make the Eastern Sierra an even better place in which to live.
We hope you enjoyed 2012's Super Bowl football game. I am sure you can appreciate that this is a sad day for all of us at channel 10. However, we take great pride in knowing that we have been of service to you over the past fifty-eight years. Since the announced closing of our operation, we have received numerous letters, e-mails and phone calls of support. For that, we are most appreciative. We, the people of KNIK will all go forward in our new careers on KNIC-TV, and I can assure you that we will always have the people of the Eastern Sierra in our hearts. Thank you, good night, God bless you all, and see you on KNIC-TV 10."

Philadelphia Mayor Frank Rizzo versus KYW-TV News Anchorman Stan Bohrman 11-10-80.flv
THIS IS THE FULL-LENGTH VERSION OF THE "I-TEAM REPORT" BROADCAST IN NOVEMBER 1980 ON KYW-TV PHILADELPHIA. "Let's forget all the rules of this great country we live in..." settle back into our recliner chairs and enjoy watching this historic piece of TV news sensationalism starring future posthumous "WWE Hall-of-Famers" former Philadelphia Mayor Frank Rizzo and Anchor/Reporter extraordinaire Stan Bohrman. Rizzo died in 1991 at age 70 and Bohrman died in 1994 at age 63. Neither of their deaths had anything to do with this hair-raising confrontation. For the "movie trivia nuts" out there, Stan Bohrman played TV News Anchorman "Pete Martin" in the 1979 nuclear suspense thriller, "The China Syndrome" which starred Hollywood legends Jane Fonda, Jack Lemmon and Michael Douglas. Video clip is Copyright 1980 Westinghouse Broadcasting Company and no infringement is intended or implied. "Behind the scenes tour of NBC's radio and television broadcasting facilities at Rockefeller Center, New York City."
Public domain film from the Library of Congress Prelinger Archive, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied.
The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Broadcasting_Company
The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) is an American commercial broadcasting television network and former radio network headquartered in the GE Building in New York City's Rockefeller Center with additional major offices near Los Angeles and in Chicago. NBC is sometimes referred to as the "Peacock Network," due to its stylized peacock logo, created originally for color broadcasts.
Formed in 1926 by the Radio Corporation of America (RCA), NBC was the first major broadcast network in the United States. In 1986, control of NBC passed to General Electric (GE), with GE's $6.4 billion purchase of RCA. GE had previously owned RCA and NBC until 1930, when it had been forced to sell the company as a result of antitrust charges.
After the 1986 acquisition, the chief executive of NBC was Bob Wright, until he retired, giving his job to Jeff Zucker. The network is currently part of the media company NBCUniversal, which is a joint venture of Comcast and General Electric since 2011 (and before that, jointly owned by GE and current Universal Music Group parent Vivendi). As a result of the merger, Zucker left NBC and was replaced by Comcast executive Steve Burke.
NBC has 10 owned-and-operated stations and nearly 200 affiliates in the United States and its territories. Archival footage from a majority of the NBC owned-and-operated stations is available for perusal and purchase through the NBCUniversal Archives...
History
Radio
Earliest stations: WEAF and WJZ
During a period of early broadcast business consolidation, the radio-making Radio Corporation of America (RCA) had acquired New York radio station WEAF from American Telephone & Telegraph (AT&T;). An RCA shareholder, Westinghouse, had a competing facility in Newark, New Jersey pioneer station WJZ (no relation to the radio and TV stations in Baltimore currently using those call letters), which also served as the flagship for a loosely structured network. This station was transferred from Westinghouse to RCA in 1923, and moved to New York.
WEAF acted as a laboratory for AT&T;'s manufacturing and supply outlet Western Electric, whose products included transmitters and antennas. The Bell System, AT&T;'s telephone utility, was developing technologies...
Red and Blue Networks
RCA spent $1 million to buy WEAF and Washington sister station WCAP, shut down the latter station and merged its facilities with surviving station WRC, and announced in late 1926 the creation of a new division known as The National Broadcasting Company. The new division was divided in ownership among RCA (fifty percent), General Electric (thirty percent), and Westinghouse (twenty percent). NBC launched officially on November 15, 1926.
WEAF and WJZ, the flagships of the two earlier networks, operated side-by-side for about a year as part of the new NBC. On January 1, 1927 NBC formally divided their respective marketing strategies: the Red Network offered commercially sponsored entertainment and music programming; the Blue Network mostly carried sustaining or non-sponsored broadcasts, especially news and cultural programs...
In 1930, General Electric was compelled by antitrust charges to divest itself of RCA, which it had founded. RCA moved its corporate headquarters into the new Rockefeller Center in 1933, signing the leases in 1931. RCA was the lead tenant at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the RCA Building (now the GE Building). The building housed NBC studios, as well as theaters for RCA-owned RKO Pictures. Rockefeller Center's founder and financier John D. Rockefeller, Jr., arranged the deal with the chairman of GE, Owen D. Young, and the president of RCA, David Sarnoff...
The famous three-note NBC chimes came about after several years of development. The three note sequence G-E'-C' were heard first over Atlanta's WSB. The chimes outline what is known to musicians as a second inversion C Major triad... NBC started to use the three notes in 1931, and it was the first audio trademark to be accepted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office...
In 1939 the FCC ordered RCA to divest itself of one of the two networks...
RCA sold Blue Network Company, Inc., for $8 million to Life Savers magnate Edward J. Noble, completing the sale on October 12, 1943... Noble wanted a better name for the network... The Blue Network became ABC officially on June 15, 1945...
