Fifth Assessment Report (AR5)

The Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) will provide a clear view of the current state of scientific knowledge relevant to climate change. It will comprise three Working Group (WG) reports and a Synthesis Report (SYR). The outline and content can be found in the AR5 reference document and SYR Scoping document.
 

The Working Group I (WGI) contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report provides a comprehensive assessment of the physical science basis of climate change in 14 chapters, supported by a number of annexes and supplementary material.
 

The approved Summary for Policymakers is available here and the accepted final draft of the full Working Group I report is available here.

The Working Group Reports and Synthesis Report will be completed in 2013/2014. The Fifth Assessment Report will be considered by the Panel according to the following timetable:

Working Group II (Yokohama, Japan)25-29 March 2014
Working Group III (Berlin, Germany)7-11 April 2014
Synthesis Report (Copenhagen, Denmark)27-31 October 2014

Climate Change 2013: The Physical Science Basis

A total of 209 Lead Authors and 50 Review Editors from 39 countries and more than 600 Contributing Authors from 32 countries contributed to the preparation of Working Group I AR5. For more on how the Working Group I report was prepared click here.



Climate Change 2014: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability

The Working Group II (WGII) contribution to the Fifth Assessment Report on impacts, adaptation and vulnerability will be considered in Yokohama, Japan, on 25-29 March 2014.


Climate Change 2014: Mitigation of Climate Change

The Working Group III (WGIII) contribution to the Fifth Assessment Report on mitigation of climate change) will be considered in Berlin, Germany, on 7-11 April 2014,


Climate Change 2014: Synthesis Report

The Synthesis Report (SYR) of the Fifth Assessment Report will be considered in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 27-31 October
