Bajpur

Bajpur (Hindi: बाजपुर) is a city and a municipality in Udham Singh Nagar district in the state of Uttarakhand, India.

It was formerly known as Bazpur, and was established early in the 20th century, by the one of most powerful rulers of Chand dynasty was Baz Bahadur since 1950,

Bajpur is well connected with the industrial city of Rudrapur and the historical city of Kashipur. It is an affluent town, mainly due to large agricultural estates. It was initially, like most of the area which forms present day Udham Singh Nagar District, a part of the Terai, and was gradually transformed into arable land by migrants from Punjab. Most of the early settlers were those rendered homeless by the Partition of India in 1947.

Bajpur has the singular achievement of possessing the first co-operative sugar mill, which was dedicated to the nation by Jawahar Lal Nehru. It was the first effort of establishment of a sugar factory in the co-operative sector, which went into production on 16 February 1959. The much famous hill station "Nainital" is 58 km from this place. Sight seeing through this route is fantastic. 25 km ahead towards Nainital there is a place called Naya Gaon, where there is a natural waterfall named as Corbett Fall. Moving on the same road you can reach to Jim Corbett National Park, Which is famous for Tiger and elephants.

Join Us

Join Us is the eleventh studio album from the rock band They Might Be Giants, released on July 19, 2011. It is the band`s first album in four years since The Else in 2007. Following the success of their 2009 children's album, Here Comes Science, the band returned to their adult audience with Join Us, an eclectic collection of 18 songs.

In an interview with The A.V. Club, Flansburgh commented, "We probably recorded 30 songs for this album, and the songs that are on album are basically the last 15 or so. There were so many strange misfires at the beginning, just the most mutant songs." Some of the songs that were left off Join Us were later completed and released on the rarities compilation Album Raises New And Troubling Questions.

Background

Recording began in March 2009, according to a July 2009 interview with Billboard, wherein John Flansburgh also mentioned that eight songs had already been recorded. An incomplete track listing composed of fourteen songs was revealed on Pitchfork.com on April 5. The track list was updated to include four more songs ("Canajoharie," "Celebration," "Dog Walker," and "Spoiler Alert") on the band's Facebook page on April 26.

Kavi sammelan

Kavi Sammelan (Hindi: कवि सम्मेलन) is a formal or informal gathering of poets in Hindi-speaking belts of northern India. The participants recite their poetry to each other and have a general discussion of literary issues. This may take place in private homes or before an audience. Kavi sammelan specifically dedicated to comedy (Hāsya) are known Hasya Kavi Sammelan.

History

Although small kavi-sammelan gatherings have been in existence since time immemorial, the first grand kavi sammelan was organized in the year 1920, which included many poets and large audiences. After that, kavi sammelan has become a large part of Indian culture. The Mushaira of Urdu gave rise to the modern Hindi Kavi Sammelan, and 'Mushaira cum Kavi Sammelan' is organised throughout the Hindustani speaking world.

In India, the period from Indian independence in 1947 to the early 1980s was a golden phase for kavi sammelan. From the mid-1980s up to the late 1990s, the Indian population, and especially its youth, was suffering from issues such as unemployment. This took its toll on kavi sammelan, as did newer modes of entertainment such as television and the internet, as well as the quantity of Indian cinema releases. Kavi sammelans had started losing their standing in Indian culture, both in terms of quantity and quality.

Surendra Jain

Surendra Kumar Jain is an activist from India. He is the all-India secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. He has served at Hindu College Rohtak from where he retired in 2013 as Professor in commerce. He was the third president (national convener) of the Bajrang Dal after Vinay Katiyar and Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya. He was succeeded as president of Bajrang Dal by Prakash Sharma on 12 June 2002. He graduated from the Shri Ram College of commerce in New Delhi and obtained a post graduate degree from the Delhi School of Economics.
