One of the standout skits from the 10/12/13 episode of "Saturday Night Live" was The digital short "Boy Dance Party" shows the secret lives of guys: When the ladies leave, the men — led by Mr. He-Man, Bruce Willis, just want to dance their hearts out. Surprise! With the men supposedly spending the evening doing typical guy stuff like watching football and drinking beer, as soon as the women walk out the door, the man cave becomes a dance club. Let the "Boy Dance Party" begin.
The men-only dance-a-thon gets going with Willis and cast members including Taran Killam – who may be taking on the Andy Samberg mantle of in-house rapper —-- and Bobby Moynihan, showing their dance moves in slow-mo. The silly but funny sketch shows the guys getting their groove on. This involves aerosol string, jumping, and even, yes, twerking, as they rock out. What one commenter on the Entertainment Weekly site dubbed an "instant classic" has became a viral hit. The Twitter term #bdp was trending, along with rave reviews.
From George Prochaska (@GLProchaska): "One simply has to hear Bruce Willis' new hit single "Boy Dance Party." Matthew Sigur @MatthewSigur raved: "Bruce Willis is killing it on @nbcsnl boy dance party was hilarious." Laura Niles (@LauraENiles) added: "#BDP was hands down best part of #SNL last night." From Alex Russell:, @MatthewSigur @nbcsnl funniest skit I've seen in a while While the "Die Hard" star is known for his action movies rather than his fancy foot work, Willis has shown in the past that he has a funny side. The A-lister hosted "SNL" only one other time, in 1989, but his sense of humor has come out in other ways. The actor played the father of Ross Geller's girlfriend in a guest role in "Friends" –— even earning an Emmy for his work in 2000. The 58-year-old showed that he could keep up with the young cast. Dance party? No problem. Yippee- kai -yay.
