Journalism Criminalized: American Journalist In Jail Cell For More Than One Year
American journalist, Barrett Brown, has contributed to numerous publications including The Guardian and Vanity Fair. He appears to be the latest victim of the Obama administration's soulless crackdown on investigative reporting. Brown has received little broadcast media coverage since his imprisonment nearly 400 days ago, and faces more than one century in prison if convicted. Rolling Stone article on Brown's imprisonment and unusual charges: http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/barrett-brown-faces-105-years-in-jail-20130905 Submit story ideas & guest suggestions on our subreddit! http://reddit.com/r/RiseShow Our Facebook page - Like us for real news http://facebook.com/RiseMorningShow Follow Katy Dolle https://twitter.com/katydolle Follow Host @D_Seaman https://twitter.com/d_seaman Follow Producer @bloggergate https://twitter.com/bloggergate Follow @RiseMorningShow https://twitter.com/risemorningshow Real news & views, always free: http://RiseTV.co- published: 07 Oct 2013

Bottled History
Ray Gascoigne has been around boats his whole life, as a shipwright, a merchant sailor, and now as a ship builder on the smallest dry dock there is: a bottle. This short film, by Smith Journal and Melbourne-based production studio Commoner, picks through the wood chips to tell the story of a craft honed over 60 years, and the man behind it. A step-by-step account of the process was featured in Smith Journal volume six. Find out more about the project: http://bit.ly/10eWkuF Learn more about Smith: http://bit.ly/sDgUHh

Light-Paint Piano Player
For information about the follow up to this video visit:
http://www.nanoanimal.com/journal/2011/9/7/light-painting-experiments.html
Animated light paintings of a little piano player performing. Filmed at night with the lovely I-5 and San Diego skyline in the background. I would like to thank everyone for the fantastic feedback I have received lately. To answer a few questions, I wrote the music and recorded it first. The frames were photographed with a Canon Rebel using 20-30 second exposure time. I used a small green LED keychain light to draw each frame. Once all the positions were photographed they were strung together and synchronized to the music in After Effects.
