Yousseph "Chico" Slimani (born 2 April 1971) is a Welsh-born singer of Moroccan descent who rose to prominence in the United Kingdom after reaching the quarter-finals of the 2005 series of the talent show The X Factor. In 2006, he had a number 1 hit on the British charts entitled "It's Chico Time". In 2008, he appeared on the reality TV show CelebAir in which he placed third.
Chico Slimani was born in Bridgend, South Wales, to Moroccan parents. Chico's father and mother were both Muslim. At age two, his parents split. Slimani remained in Morocco and lived with his grandparents, whereas his mother opted to live in Belgium. Slimani spent his childhood time in Oujda City, Morocco. His family was so poor that Chico took up goat herding to contribute to the family income, but as he says "We may have not had much money, but we had a lot of love".
When he was 14 years old, his father, living in Crawley, West Sussex, called him back to live in the UK. After leaving school, he began a youth training scheme as a hairdresser, before working as an electrician. He also studied martial arts.
Jodeyne Higgins is a Canadian pair skater who also competed in the fours discipline. She is a two-time (1993, 1995) Canadian pairs bronze medalist with skating partner and husband Sean Rice, and a four-time (1993–1996) Canadian fours champion with Rice, Scott MacDonald and Alison Purkiss (1994–1996), and Jodi Barnes and Rob Williams (1993).
Higgins and Rice also won the 1992 Canadian fours bronze medal with Janice Yeck and Scott MacDonald and the 1997 silver medal with Melissa Shields and Trevor Buttenham.
They retired from competitive skating and toured professionally on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, for whom Higgins works as the ice show director. In 2009, Higgins was a contestant on Battle of the Blades. She was paired with hockey player Ken Daneyko and was eliminated in week four. In 2011, Higgins appeared in series 6 of ITV's Dancing on Ice, with whom she reached the semi finals. She also performed with Dr. Johnson Beharry VC and husband Sean Rice on the 2011 Dancing On Ice Tour. In 2012, Higgins was partnered with Chico Slimani for series 7 after Chesney Hawkes injured himself in training before the start of the new series. Chico and Jodeyne finished 3rd in the Final of Dancing on Ice Series 7.
Suzanne Shaw (born Suzanne Crowshaw on 29 September 1981 in Bury, Greater Manchester)[citation needed] is an English actress, singer and television personality. Originally famous for winning the talent contest Popstars and subsequently being a member of the band Hear'Say, she is now an established musical theatre and West End performer, actress, model and television presenter in her own right. She is also the winner of series 3 of the popular ITV1 program Dancing on Ice. She was married to presenter Jason King of duo JK and Joel. Shaw has played the character of Eve Jenson in the soap opera Emmerdale.
Shaw started ballet lessons at the age of two and by the age of three was attending the Lupino and Freelance Dance school, where she trained in all forms of dance. Shaw also studied acting, and performed in her first show Annie at five years of age. She joined an amateur dramatics society and did various productions, including The Sound of Music, and a West End production of Showboat at the age of nine. She was a member of an ABBA tribute band, The Right Stuff, and appeared in television roles including an Esso advertisement, Holby City, and a BBC production, Elidor. She also tried for the part of Maria Sutherland in Coronation Street, and made it to the final three along with Girls Aloud member Kimberley Walsh, but lost out to Samia Smith.
Glenda Gilson (born 8 March 1981) is an Irish model and television presenter.
In August 2006, Gilson embarked on a presenting career, appearing as the face of Irish music channel Bubble Hits hosting the news and entertainment show Glenda's Showbiz Gossip. In 2008, she soon found a new home for her celebrity gossip insight and fashion knowledge by joining TV3's Xposé team on a part-time basis before becoming a permanent fixture as of 2009. She appeared as a contestant on the RTÉ reality show, Celebrity Bainisteoir.
Gilson represented Ireland in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic in 2002 in Oahu and went on to win the title for Europe. Her success secured widespread international exposure, as she appeared in the pages of Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and Company. Gilson made two guest appearances in Katherine Lynch's Wonderwomen. Amongst some of the celebrities she has interviewed are Michael Douglas, Cameron Diaz, Owen Wilson, Justin Timberlake, Lily Allen, Tony Bennett, Matthew McConaughey, Hilary Duff, Zac Efron, Michael Bublé and Breffney Morgan. She counts Linda Martin and Twink as close "gal pals".
