Mizoram /mɨˈzɔrəm/ (Mizo pronunciation: /mɪ.'zoʊ.'rʌm/) (from mi 'people', zo 'hill', ram 'country', Land of the Hill People / Mizo people") is one of the Seven Sister States listed as in North Eastern India, sharing borders with the states of Tripura, Assam, Manipur and with the neighboring countries of Bangladesh and Myanmar Burma. Mizoram became the 23rd state of India on 20 February 1987. Its capital is Aizawl. Mizoram is located in the northeast of India.

Mizoram has a mild climate, comfortable in summer 20 °C to 29 °C (68 °F to 84 °F) and never freezing during winter, with temperatures from 7 °C to 21 °C (44 °F to 70 °F). The region is influenced by monsoons, raining heavily from May to September with little rain in the dry (cold) season. The average state rainfall is 254 cm (100 in.), per annum. In the capital, Aizawl rainfall is about 208 centimetres (82 in.) and in Lunglei, another major center, about 350 centimetres (138 in.)

Mizoram is a land of rolling hills, valleys, rivers and lakes. As many as 21 major hills ranges or peaks of different heights run through the length and breadth of the state, with plains scattered here and there. The average height of the hills to the west of the state are about 1,000 metres (3,281 feet). These gradually rise up to 1,300 metres (4,265 feet) to the east. Some areas, however, have higher ranges which go up to a height of over 2,000 metres (6,562 feet). Phawngpui Tlang also known as the Blue Mountain, situated in the south-eastern part of the state, is the highest peak in Mizoram at 2,210 metres (7,251 feet).

State schools, also known as public schools or government schools, generally refer to primary or secondary schools mandated for or offered to all children by the government, whether national, regional, or local, provided by an institution of civil government, and paid for, in whole or in part, by public funding from taxation. The term may also refer to institutions of post-secondary education funded, in whole or in part, and overseen by government.

This includes basic education, kindergarten to twelfth grade, also referred to as primary and secondary education, as well as post-secondary educational institutions such as universities, colleges, and technical schools funded and overseen by government rather than private entities.

State education is inclusive, both in its treatment of students and in that enfranchisement for the government of public education is as broad as for government generally. It is often organized and operated to be a deliberate model of the civil community in which it functions. Although typically provided to groups of students in classrooms in a central school, it may be provided in-home, employing visiting teachers,and/or supervising teachers. It can also be provided in non-school, non-home settings, such as shopping mall space.

Samuel George Shields III (born December 8, 1987) is an American football cornerback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He played college football at the University of Miami.

A native of Sarasota, Florida, Shields attended Booker High School, where he played wide receiver. During his senior year, Shields had 67 receptions for 1,201 yards and 22 touchdowns. Of those 67 receptions, 44 of them went for either firstdowns or touchdowns. His performance helped his team make it to the Class 3A Championship game. Shields was ranked the 17th best receiver coming out of highschool by Rivals.com. He received scholarships from the University of Miami, Louisville, LSU, and Pittsburgh.

Shields ultimately decided to play at Miami where he starteds in seven games out of 13 and played during the others during his freshman year in 2006. Shields had 37 receptions, which was the most by a Miami true freshman since Reggie Wayne in 1997. During his first start against Louisville, he caught three passes for 63 yards including a reception for 49 yards. His first touchdown pass came on a trick play when he caught a 37 yard pass from safety Lovon Ponder versus the North Carolina Tarheels. Shields also had the only two touchdown game of his career against Duke University. Miami was given a bowl bid to the MPC Computers Bowl against Nevada. In the bowl, Shields had four receptions for 101 yards and caught a 78-yard touchdown pass to win the game. His performance earned him a spot as an honorable mention All-American on the freshman team by Sporting News. He was also named a selection to the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Football Team.
