X-Mansion

The X-Mansion is the common name for a fictional location appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The mansion is depicted as Professor Xavier's private estate, a character in X-men comics. It is the base of operations and training site of the X-Men and the location of a school for mutant teenagers, and sometimes older aged mutants, the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, formerly Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. It is also the worldwide headquarters of the X-Corporation. Its address is 1407 Graymalkin Lane, Salem Center (part of the town of North Salem), located in the very northeast corner of Westchester County, New York. The school's motto is "mutatis mutandis." Recently, Wolverine re-opened the school, at the same address, under the name of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.

History

The X-Mansion is the inherited property of Charles Xavier (Professor X) and has been in the Xavier family for ten generations including two known mutants in the lineage, both becoming detached from the family. Little else is known about them or their mutations.

Institute of Engineering

The Institute of Engineering (IOE) (Nepali: ईन्जिनियरिङ अध्ययन संस्थान), founded in 1930 is the first technical school of Nepal. It was reformed in the present shape in 1972 as an organ of Tribhuvan University. Besides producing low and tertiary level technicians, IOE runs professional diplomas, under graduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programs. The institute has four constituent and ten affiliated campuses in the country.

History

The history of engineering education in Nepal can be traced to 1930, when a Technical Training School was established. The engineering section of the school offered only trades and civil sub-overseers programs. In 1959, the Nepal Engineering Institute, with the assistance of the government of India, started offering civil overseer courses leading to a Diploma in Civil Engineering. The Technical Training Institute established in 1965, with the assistance from the Government of Federal Republic of Germany, offered technician courses in General courses in General Mechanics, Auto Mechanics, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Drafting.

Xavier Institute of Engineering

The Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE) was established in the year 2005 to offer minority Roman Catholic students in India a technical education. The institute is managed by the Society of Jesus, Jesuits, and is affiliated to Mumbai University and AICTE New Delhi. XIE lies in the heart of Mumbai opposite S.L Raheja Hospital, a 15-minute walk from Mahim station.

Degrees & admissions

XIE offers four-year engineering courses in Information Technology (IT), Computer Engineering (CE), and Electronics and Telecommunications (EXTC) that lead to the Bachelor of Engineering. Each field offers 60 seats, 180 per year or 720 in the Intrstitute. Admissions is through the Common Entrance Test (CET) and JEE. Minority Roman Catholics are allotted 50% of the seats, Institute Level Management 20%, and the remainder go to general students on the basis of CET rankings. Each branch reserves one place each year for Kashmiri migrants who have left home due to the Kashmir conflict.

The 20th century was a century that began on January 1, 1901 and ended on December 31, 2000. It was the tenth and final century of the 2nd millennium. It is distinct from the century known as the 1900s (sometimes written as 19XX), which began on January 1, 1900 and ended on December 31, 1999.
