Jonathan Huberdeau (born June 4, 1993) is a Canadian ice hockey forward currently playing for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected third overall by the Panthers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Huberdeau played Midget AAA hockey with the Ste. Eustache Vikings of the Quebec Midget League. He led the league in scoring during the 2008–09 season. After his performance, he was drafted in the first round (18th overall) in the 2009 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Midget draft by the Saint John Sea Dogs. Huberdeau scored a goal in his first QMJHL game against the Acadie–Bathurst Titan. Huberdeau was the leading scorer among 16-year-olds in the QMJHL for the 2009–10 season, and scored on all six of his shootout attempts. In January 2010, Huberdeau was named the league's scholastic player of the month. The Sea Dogs reached the QMJHL finals during Huberdeau's rookie season.
Prior to the start of the 2010–11 season, Huberdeau was one of 33 prospects selected to attend the NHL Research, Development and Orientation Camp in August. The prospects were invited to participate to try out potential rule changes the NHL was considering, and also to be briefed with information on security and professionalism to assist with their future careers in the public eye.
The Florida Panthers are a professional ice hockey team based in the Miami metropolitan area. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). They play home games at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida; the Panthers are the southernmost team in the NHL. The team has made one appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals, in 1996; they lost to the Colorado Avalanche in four games.
The team advanced to the Stanley Cup playoffs for the second time in 12 years in 2012, but were eliminated in seven games by the eventual Eastern Conference champions, the New Jersey Devils, in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
Blockbuster Video magnate Wayne Huizenga was awarded an NHL franchise for Miami on December 10, 1992, the same day The Walt Disney Company earned the rights to start a team in Anaheim. At the time, Huizenga owned both the newly founded Florida Marlins of Major League Baseball and a share of the National Football League's Miami Dolphins. The entry fee was $50 million, but despite fellow Florida team Tampa Bay Lightning starting play the year before, the NHL did not consider it to be a case of territory infringement. Huizenga announced the team would play at the Miami Arena, sharing the building with the National Basketball Association's Miami Heat, until a new arena was built. Offices for the team were only established on June 1993, while Vice President of Business Operations Dean Jordan conceded that "none of the business people, myself included, knew anything about hockey."

Full highlights of the New York Islanders 2-1 victory over the Florida Panthers in game 6 of their first round series. For most of the game, it appeared Florida would force a game 7 on their home ice in Sunrise on the strength of a spectacular falling goal by Jonathan Huberdeau. Yet in the final minute of regulation, Islanders superstar-in-the-making John Tavares found a loose puck laying next to goaltender Roberto Luongo in the goal crease and casually tapped it in to force overtime. Tavares would be the hero in the extra sessions as well, scoring in double overtime with a brilliant wraparound goal and winning the series in iconic, dramatic fashion. The Islanders took the series 4 games to 2 and advanced to face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2nd round. They would defeat the Islanders in ...
