BOULDER, Colo. — Three Boulder moms have founded Boulder Photo Rescue to help flood victims save family photos damaged in the September Storm.
They join the folks at Memories to Digital who are allowing their shops in Boulder and Northern Colorado to let people come in and save the family treasures… some caked in mud and slime.
“We know how important these photos are to people and we want to help save as many as we can,” said owner Gwen Scherer. “These images mean the world to those who may have lost all their possessions and in some cases even their homes.”
The Digital shop is located in the Sprouts Plaza at 2525 Arapahoe in Boulder and when we say there is a maze of clothes pins and photos hanging around, we’re not kidding.
The photo shop has saved more than 20,000 photos for families in and around Boulder.
But both groups need volunteers to help in the process. They will teach you all you ever wanted to know about saving photos. The reward you will get is satisfaction of knowing you have helped someone save their past.
“I kind of have survivor guilt,” said volunteer Arielle Nobile. “I just knew I had to do something and this is a very good way to pitch in and help neighbors in need.”
