Bill Doherty's West Gippsland Football League show from Radio 3UL Warragul.Bill describes the narrow win by one point of Cora Lynn over Drouin in the Reserves 2nd Semi Final. This was CL's reserves first grand final and they were to play a drawn grand final agianst Drouin and unfortunately lost the replay the following week. Douin also won the seniors and thirds. It certainly was Drouins year as they also played a draw in the seconds against CL and were able to field a better side the following week in the replay. The old If Only.... keeps coming back to me on that drawn GF in the seconds....If only we could have won by a point we would have broken that long drought of premierships in our first ever reserves grand final. But obviously on a level playing field with only one team to field, Drouin were the better team. Leon Rice created a record by playing in the 3rds and the 1sts premiership on the one day in 1967 and then followed up by playing in the 2nds the following week obviously to Cora Lynns disadvantage
