Elephants are large land mammals in two extant genera of the family Elephantidae: Elephas and Loxodonta, with the third genus Mammuthus extinct. Three living species of elephant are recognized: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant and the Indian or Asian elephant; although some group the two African species into one and some researchers also postulate the existence of a fourth species in West Africa. All other species and genera of Elephantidae are extinct. Most have been extinct since the last ice age, although dwarf forms of mammoths might have survived as late as 2,000 BCE. Elephants and other Elephantidae were once classified with other thick-skinned animals in a now invalid order, Pachydermata.
Elephants are the largest living land animals on Earth today. The elephant's gestation period is 22 months, the longest of any land animal. At birth, an elephant calf typically weighs 105 kilograms (230 lb). They typically live for 50 to 70 years, but the oldest recorded elephant lived for 82 years. The largest elephant ever recorded was shot in Angola in 1955. This male weighed about 10,900 kg (24,000 lb), with a shoulder height of 3.96 metres (13.0 ft), 1 metre (3.3 ft) taller than the average male African elephant. The smallest elephants, about the size of a calf or a large pig, were a prehistoric species that lived on the island of Crete during the Pleistocene epoch.

24HR Records takes 3 musicians from 3 different bands, and challenges them to write and record a number of songs in 24 hours.
Elephant Chords is the brainchild of composer/drummer Lindsay Jamieson (Elle Macho), multi-instrumentalist boy wonder Robert Gay (VITEK, Robert Gay & The Alarms), and the ever tasteful bassist Kevin Whitsett (The Flea Marketeers). This 24HR session took place in the middle of winter at a freezing warehouse loaded with every kind of old, odd, and classic instrument imaginable. Wrapped up in their finest coats, the men of Elephant Chords stayed up all night sifting through their vast options creating a modern concerto anchored around simple piano melodies, bass, and guitar. Textured with brass, synthesizers, and lush vocal pads, Jamieson and company have created a musical experience that exists in some space between Burt Bacharach, Arvo Pärt, and the Gorillaz. From calm to chaotic, Elephant Chords takes listeners on an indulgent journey that is in the end, rewarding and cathartic.

Richard West aka Mr.C was born in London in the late 60's. He started MCing in London clubs aged only 16 & soon earned a reputation as a fast talking vivacious rapper working with LWR radio's Ron Tom & the LWR Soul Syndicate, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace in 1986, going on to MC for Colin Faver on the then illegal pirate radio station Kiss FM. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ to learn more about his beloved House & Techno music, so in late '87 Richard took to the decks. Mr.C has since organised, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95- 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present) & Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present).
Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, cofounder of End Recordings & cofounder & owner of the Superfreq label. Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B, Sycophant Slags & Indigo Kidz. Mr.C is best known as front man of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. With Colin Angus as The Shamen, Mr.C also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1992.
Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which will celebrate being 12 years old in March 2014 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq functions bi-monthly in London, a bi-annual residency at the legendary nightclub Fabric & the rest of the time hopping around London’s warehouse venues. Superfreq also does quarterly events at Hollywood’s hottest venue Sound in Los Angeles & monthly events in Calais France. Mr.C holds down a quarterly residencies at Tree House in Miami & Output in Brooklyn & hosting bi-annual residencies at La Santanera in Playa Del Carmen, various venues in Chicago & Junk Club in Southampton UK. This is on top annual Superfreq events in Russia, Ibiza, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Dallas, Denver & San Francisco & other one of events the world over. Superfreq has accomplished 7 successful seasons in Ibiza, 3 at Club Underground, 2 at the legendary DC10, 1 season at Blu & 3 events at Aura & regularly hosts events at BPM Festival & WMC Festival in Miami & will be hosting events in 2014 at BPM, WMC, DEMF, Sonar, Burning Man & ADE.

A hippo’s head, two leopard skulls and a pair of elephant ears were among more than a dozen hunting trophies imported to the UK within the past 12 months, The Telegraph can disclose.
With the issue of trophy hunting under unprecedented scrutiny following the killing of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe, official records reveal the bizarre array of animal items that have been brought into the country.n the year to this July, 16 licences were used to import items classed as hunting trophies – such as tusks, heads, skulls and skins – to the UK, according to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
Four of the licences were for leopard trophies, with two skulls and two skins of the big cats imported over the period. One licence was used to import a hippo ‘shoulder mount’ – a stuffed head and shoulders – while another was used to import the skull and hide of a grizzly bear.

Before concluding the interview we spoke with Cyhi on his relationship with DJ/Def Jam exec Don Cannon as well as his stance on Hip-Hop's role in Black Lives Matter and being socially aware. Cyhi elaborated on Don Cannon being a mentor in ways and helping direct his visions and plans. Speaking on having an unorthodox way of thinking, Cyhi does plan on helping our culture during these socially uneasy times and will allow his actions and music to be a light for change.

"Personally, I asked for a release from Def Jam,” CyHi The Prynce said. “So, I did get a release, but it wasn't due to Kanye West it was to due to Def Jam...I'm still connected to G.O.O.D. Music but it's almost like a Travi$ Scott situation-- he's not on the same distributor as G.O.O.D. Music but he's still with G.O.O.D. Music. It was more so Def Jam not knowing what to do with me-- it was only so much Kanye could do, 'cause he didn't really wanna put himself out there, and Def Jam not do what they supposed to do and he gotta keep putting himself out there for me. So I just felt like, I would rather go to a situation that wants me there as far as distribution, then I'll add Ye and we'll put it all together and make it a successful release."
Upon the release of CyHi’s “Elephant In The Room” track, many took the song as a diss towards Kanye West, Pusha T, and others at G.O.O.D. Music. According to CyHi, both ‘Ye and Pusha heard the song prior to its release and thought “it was creatively dope.”
He added that “Elephant In The Room” was a record that was two to three years in the making.
“I thought it'd be a dope like artistic storyline-ish record, but people took the beef thing to another level than what I thought it was gunna be,” he said. "He [Kanye West] was laughing, everybody thought it was creatively dope, Pusha was there...[Kanye] actually gave me the beat and the concept. He said he wanted to do like a Dre/Em feel, and I just felt like addressing the elephant in the room. People don't know the song's like 2-3 years in the making. It was just time for it.”

24HR Records takes 3 musicians from 3 different bands, and challenges them to write and record a number of songs in 24 hours. Elephant Chords is the brainchild of composer/drummer Lindsay Jamieson (Elle Macho), multi-instrumentalist boy wonder Robert Gay (VITEK, Robert Gay & The Alarms), and the ever tasteful bassist Kevin Whitsett (The Flea Marketeers). This 24HR session took place in the middle of winter at a freezing warehouse loaded with every kind of old, odd, and classic instrument imaginable. Wrapped up in their finest coats, the men of Elephant Chords stayed up all night sifting through their vast options creating a modern concerto anchored around simple piano melodies, bass, and guitar. Textured with brass, synthesizers, and lush vocal pads, Jamieson and company have created a musical experience that exists in some space between Burt Bacharach, Arvo Pärt, and the Gorillaz. From calm to chaotic, Elephant Chords takes listeners on an indulgent journey that is in the end, rewarding and cathartic. He started MCing in London clubs aged only 16 & soon earned a reputation as a fast talking vivacious rapper working with LWR radio's Ron Tom & the LWR Soul Syndicate, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, cofounder of End Recordings & cofounder & owner of the Superfreq label. Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B, Sycophant Slags & Indigo Kidz. Mr.C is best known as front man of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. With Colin Angus as The Shamen, Mr.C also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1992. Official records reveal the bizarre array of animal items that have been brought into the country in the past year A hippo’s head, two leopard skulls and a pair of elephant ears were among more than a dozen hunting trophies imported to the UK within the past 12 months, The Telegraph can disclose. With the issue of trophy hunting under unprecedented scrutiny following the killing of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe, official records reveal the bizarre array of animal items that have been brought into the country.n the year to this July, 16 licences were used to import items classed as hunting trophies – such as tusks, heads, skulls and skins – to the UK, according to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA). Four of the licences were for leopard trophies, with two skulls and two skins of the big cats imported over the period. One licence was used to import a hippo ‘shoulder mount’ – a stuffed head and shoulders – while another was used to import the skull and hide of a grizzly bear. People who feel the need to show that they can kill are often battling feelings of inadequacy PETA Ten licences were used for items from African elephants – a species that is regarded as ‘vulnerable’, meaning it faces a high risk of extinction in the wild, according to WWF. Atlanta hip-hop artist Cyhi The Prynce has been one of the best lyrical artist of our generation for some time and he recently caught the eye of the Hip-Hop world with his record "Elephant In The Room". When Cyhi The Prynce's new record "Elephant In The Room" hit the internet, folks immediately took the record as a diss to his G.O.O.D music mentor Kanye West and Def Jam records so it was only right that we sat down with Cyhi to find out what is really going on. Following Cyhi The Prynce's private press conference held here in Atlanta that allowed Cyhi to speak with his fans and answer some of their questions on their minds, we caught up with Cyhi to get a better understanding of what he has going on. Cyhi explained the creative process between his record "Elephant In The Room" and informed us that it is not a diss record at all, more a creative way to vent and speak his mind. Informing us that Kanye was behind the record and that he is still rocking with G.O.O.D music, Cyhi spoke on wanting to deliver something special for his fans and doing it with "Elephant In The Room". Cyhi The Prynce also spook with us on his future and his plans for the next year. Currently putting plans together for his debut album, Cyhi spoke on gathering game over the years and being ready to use that ammo for good. After being overlooked for so long, Cyhi is ready to step into any arena and display his lyrically abilities. Before concluding the interview we spoke with Cyhi on his relationship with DJ/Def Jam exec Don Cannon as well as his stance on Hip-Hop's role in Black Lives Matter and being socially aware. Cyhi elaborated on Don Cannon being a mentor in ways and helping direct his visions and plans. Speaking on having an unorthodox way of thinking, Cyhi does plan on helping our culture during these socially uneasy times and will allow his actions and music to be a light for change. During a phone conversation with HotNewHipHop.com, Stone Mountain, Georgia rapper CyHi The Prynce shed some light on his newly-released “Elephant In The Room” record and his standing at Def Jam Records. In regards to his label situation, CyHi revealed that he asked to be let go from Def Jam. He explained that the label didn’t know what to do with him, and Kanye West could only do so much to help with his situation. The Southern wordsmith did add that he’s still associated with G.O.O.D. Music, despite his departure from Def Jam. "Personally, I asked for a release from Def Jam,” CyHi The Prynce said. “So, I did get a release, but it wasn't due to Kanye West it was to due to Def Jam...I'm still connected to G.O.O.D. Music but it's almost like a Travi$ Scott situation-- he's not on the same distributor as G.O.O.D. Music but he's still with G.O.O.D. Music. It was more so Def Jam not knowing what to do with me-- it was only so much Kanye could do, 'cause he didn't really wanna put himself out there, and Def Jam not do what they supposed to do and he gotta keep putting himself out there for me. So I just felt like, I would rather go to a situation that wants me there as far as distribution, then I'll add Ye and we'll put it all together and make it a successful release." Upon the release of CyHi’s “Elephant In The Room” track, many took the song as a diss towards Kanye West, Pusha T, and others at G.O.O.D. Music. According to CyHi, both ‘Ye and Pusha heard the song prior to its release and thought “it was creatively dope.” He added that “Elephant In The Room” was a record that was two to three years in the making. “I thought it'd be a dope like artistic storyline-ish record, but people took the beef thing to another level than what I thought it was gunna be,” he said. "He [Kanye West] was laughing, everybody thought it was creatively dope, Pusha was there...[Kanye] actually gave me the beat and the concept. He said he wanted to do like a Dre/Em feel, and I just felt like addressing the elephant in the room. People don't know the song's like 2-3 years in the making. The Maharashtra forest department trapped three male elephant tuskers who were among a herd of elephants living in Karnataka's forests, and visiting border areas of Goa and Maharashtra, feasting on agricultural and horticultural crops. Two of the elephants died in Kudal, while the surviving elephant has been sent to Karnataka for training. The incident comes as a development of the conflict between man and elephant....
