Key Events in the ANC
Land reform through restitution, redistribution and tenure reform
A great wrong was done, and now it is up to us to follow-up by doing a great right. We are now in charge of our own destiny. There can be no successful national development without accompanying rural development and land reform. The ANC led government will provide better incentives for commercial farmers that are willing and capable of mentoring smallholder farmers.
A mass based and holistic approach to employment creation
The Accord contains a set of six commitments that all social partners have subscribed to. This alone offers more hope than a single policy response in the form of a youth wage subsidy or any other variant. It does so because of the recognition that no single actor or policy response will be able to make a dent on this bleak picture of youth unemployment in the country let alone eradicate it.
Youth and the Developmental State
Media reports, which significantly influence public opinion, had historically characterized these events as xenophobic, so this was equally treated as yet another shameful act of xenophobia. However we are convinced that this xenophobia narrative, dismally fails to comprehensively capture the real story. We know it is easy in this country for our media to fail to capture the real story; especially it hunts like `a pack of wild dogs`. This means when they gather information and interpret a social phenomenon they are forever limited to a narrow pack outlook of a phenomenon - tunnel vision.
The future is youthful, the future is revolutionary!
The struggle for a better society spans generations, with each generation called upon by the demands or challenges of its age to carry out its `generational mandate`.
Released after the NEC Lekgotla meeting which was held on the 27-28 September 2013

This is important in that the NEC is the highest decision making organ of the organisation
