Busby Marou (pronounced Buz-bee Ma-roo) are an Australian duo originally from Rockhampton, Queensland. The duo are characterised by their melodic guitar riffs and meaningful lyrics. The band primarily consists of Thomas Busby and Jeremy Marou, however several other musicians perform with the duo in concert. At the APRA Music Awards of 2012, the duo won "Blues & Roots Work of the Year" category.
Busby Marou is the first signing to Warner Music Australia's indie imprint – Footstomp Records, and released their debut, self-titled album on 24 June 2011, a record that includes their first single "Biding My Time".
The band has recorded with and played in support of Pete Murray. Their debut EP, the limited release The Blue Road, was recorded at Pete Murray's personal studios in Byron Bay and produced by Anthony Lycenko who had worked with artists such as Murray, David Bowie and Shifter. In 2010 they won the Indigenous Award at Brisbane's Q Song Awards and took out a Deadly for Most Promising New Talent in Music. Busby Marou's song 'Days of Gold' was released after their tour. This hit the top of the charts. 'Days of Gold' was their number 1 hit single and they describedd it as being backwards, releasing a single after the tour. 'citation needed'
Wanna Have Fun is an EP released by Cyndi Lauper in 1996. It was an inexpensively priced long-running EP issued mostly as a promotional tool for her album Sisters of Avalon, released the same year. It compiles songs from her previous albums, a combination of hits and non-charting album tracks. It was produced by Sony Music Special Products.
diana is the tenth studio album by American singer Diana Ross, released in May 22, 1980 by Motown Records. The album was, and remains the biggest-selling studio album of Ross's career. All songs are composed, played and produced by Chic members Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards
Following the U.S. success of her 1979 album The Boss, Ross wanted a fresher, more modern sound. Having heard production team Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers of Chic's work in the famous Manhattan disco club, Studio 54, Ross approached the two about creating a new album of material for her that stated where she felt she was in her life and career at the time.
Nile Rodgers recently reiterated on an episode of TVONE's "Unsung" that the majority of the songs were crafted after direct conversations with Diana. She had reportedly said to Nile and Bernard that she wanted to turn things "Upside Down" in her career and "Have Fun (Again)". After running into several drag queens in a club dressed as Diana, "I'm Coming Out" was born. Only "My Old Piano" came from their normal songwriting processes.
"Girls Just Want to Have Fun" is a song written by and first recorded in 1979 by American musician Robert Hazard. However, it is much better known as a single by American singer Cyndi Lauper, whose version was released in 1983. It was the first major single released by Lauper as a solo artist and the lead-off single from her debut album She's So Unusual. Lauper’s version gained recognition as a feminist anthem and was promoted by a Grammy-winning video. It has been covered on either an album or in live concert by over 30 other artists.
The single was Lauper's breakthrough hit, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming a worldwide hit throughout late 1983 and early 1984. It remains one of Lauper's signature songs and was a widely popular song during the era of its release, the 1980s. The "Rolling Stone & MTV: '100 Greatest Pop Songs': 1-50", "Rolling Stone: "The 100 Top Music Videos"" and the "VH1: 100 Greatest Videos" lists ranked the song at No. 22, No. 39 and No. 45, respectively. The song received Grammy Award nominations for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. In 2013, the song was remixed by Yolanda Be Cool, taken from the 30th anniversary reissue of the album She's So Unusual.

BUSBY MAROU will release their self-titled, debut album on Friday June 24th! Find the boys on Facebook: www.facebook.com/BusbyMarou "We used to call this song 'the chase' which is ironic because it is basically about hanging around the same spot waiting and hoping for a good thing to come into play.. It was the last song written for the album and it was penned in the studio in record time. There was a girl in mind at the time but she hung around for about as long as it took to write. Regardless, it has that certain type of mood and direction we feel our music is heading. We're never in a rush when we're playing together and we feel this track is a fair indication of our style."
