The Very Best is a collaboration between London-based DJ/production duo Radioclit and Esau Mwamwaya, a singer from Lilongwe, Malawi. Their music has been described as an Afro-Western mix of dance, hip-hop, pop, and the traditional music of Malawi.
Esau Mwamwaya was born in Mzuzu, Malawi, but grew up in the capital, Lilongwe, where he played drums in various bands. He played with numerous artists, including Masaka Band and Evison Matafale. In 1999 he moved to London and while running a second-hand furniture shop in Clapton, East London, Esau sold a bicycle to the producer from the band Radioclit, Etienne Tron. Radioclit's studio was on the same street as Esau's shop, and eventually, Esau became friends with both Tron and Johan Karlberg aka Radioclit.
In 2008, the three men worked together to create a project known as "The Very Best," releasing a critically lauded free mixtape through the label GREEN OWL. The mixtape features samples and collaborations with other indie artists, including M.I.A., Vampire Weekend, Architecture in Helsinki, BLK JKS, Santigold and The Ruby Suns. The songs are sung in Chichewa, the national language of Malawi.
Sid James (born Solomon Joel Cohen; 8 May 1913 – 26 April 1976) was a South African-born British actor and comedian.
Appearing in British films from 1947, he was cast in numerous small and supporting roles into the 1960s. His profile was raised as Tony Hancock's co-star in Hancock's Half Hour, which ran on television from 1956 until 1960, and then he became known as a regular performer in the Carry On films, appearing in 19 films of the series with the top billing role in 17 (in the other two he was cast below Frankie Howerd). Meanwhile, his starring roles in television sitcoms continued for the rest of his life. He starred alongside Diana Coupland in the 1970s sitcom Bless This House which aired from 1971 until James died in 1976.
Remembered for a lascivious persona, the Snopes website describing him as "the grand old man of dirty laughter", he became known for his amiability in his later television work. Bruce Forsyth described him as "a natural at being natural."
On 26 April 1976, James was touring in The Mating Season, appearing at the Sunderland Empire Theatre when he died from a heart attack. Some, including comedian Les Dawson, claim to have seen the ghost of James at the theatre.
Carry On may refer to:
Kenneth Charles Williams (22 February 1926 – 15 April 1988) was an English comic actor and comedian.
He was one of the main ensemble in 26 of the 31 Carry On films, and appeared in many British television shows and radio comedies, including series with Tony Hancock and Kenneth Horne.
Kenneth Charles Williams was born on 22 February 1926 in Bingfield Street, King's Cross, London, the son of Louisa ("Lou" or "Louie") Morgan (1901-1991) and Charles Williams (1899-1962), a barber and strict Methodist from Somers Town, London. Kenneth Williams stated in his diaries that he believed he had Welsh ancestors due to his parents' surnames. Williams had a half-sister, Alice Patricia "Pat", born illegitimately before Louie had met Charlie Williams. He was educated at Lyulph Stanley School, later becoming apprenticed as a draughtsman to a mapmaker. In 1944, aged 18, he was called up to the Army. He became a sapper in the Engineers Survey section, doing much the same work that he did as a civilian. When the war ended he was in Singapore, and he opted to transfer to the Combined Service Entertainment Unit, which put on revue shows. While in that unit he met Stanley Baxter, Peter Nichols, and John Schlesinger.
Dame Barbara Windsor, DBE (born Barbara Ann Deeks; 6 August 1937), is an English actress, known for her appearances in the Carry On films and for playing Peggy Mitchell in the BBC One soap opera EastEnders. She joined the cast of EastEnders in 1994 and won the 1999 British Soap Award for Best Actress. She left the show in 2010, before returning for three episodes between 2013 and 2015. It was confirmed that Peggy would be killed off in episodes broadcast in 2016, Windsor having filmed her return scenes in November 2015.
Windsor began her career on stage in 1950 at the age of 13 and made her film debut in The Belles of St Trinian's (1954). She received a BAFTA Award nomination for the film Sparrows Can't Sing (1963), and a Tony Award nomination for the 1964 Broadway production of Oh, What A Lovely War!. In 1972, she starred opposite Vanessa Redgrave in the West End production of The Threepenny Opera. Between 1964 and 1974, she appeared in nine Carry On films, including Carry On Spying (1964), Carry On Doctor (1967), Carry On Camping (1969), Carry On Henry (1971) and Carry On Abroad (1972). She also co-presented the 1977 Carry On compilation That's Carry On!. Other film roles include A Study in Terror (1965), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968), and as the voice of Dormouse in Alice in Wonderland (2010) and the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016).
Kenneth interviews Barbara Windsor, and the two Carry On legends reminisce about the good old days. The show was broadcast on Wednesday, April 23rd 1986.

Sid James (born Solomon Joel Cohen; 8th May 1913 - 26th April 1976) was a South African, British-based actor and comedian, who made his name as Tony Hancock's co-star in Hancock's Half Hour and also starred in the popular Carry On films. He was known for his trademark "dirty laugh" and lascivious persona. In 1967, James was intending to play Sergeant Nocker in Carry On Follow That Camel, but suffered a massive heart attack and was replaced by the American comic actor Phil Silvers. In the same year in Carry On Doctor James was shown mainly lying in a hospital bed, owing to his real-life health scare. Meanwhile his success in TV situation comedies continued, now heading the cast, notably in Taxi!, George and the Dragon, Two In Clover, and Bless This House. He suffered a heart attack on 26th ...
They're saucy, they're laden with innuendo and they're very, very British. Now, after nearly a quarter of a century - the Carry On films are coming back. Sadly no Sid James, Kenneth Williams or Hattie Jacques of course, but two new films with a brand new cast.
One of my favourite scene of one of my favourite movies of all times. Have a good laugh!:-)
A short clip from What A Carve Up starring Sidney James & Kenneth Connor. An old joke but still funny!

Thomas Weller, a.k.a. “The San Diego Highwayman” has been rescuing people stranded on the side of the road for 48 years. When he was 16 years old, he drove his car into a ditch. A man came along and rescued him, asking only that Thomas pay it forward one day. Since that time, Weller has rescued thousands of people who were stranded in one way or another. Weller hands them a card that says “You don’t owe me a thing. I’ve been there too. Someone once helped me out, just the way I’m helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here’s what you do: don’t let the chain of love end with you. Back in August of 2011, Weller’s famous rescue car “Beulah” was totaled during a rescue. The remains of his prized car still sat in his back yard. Since the launch of this film, we've been able to raise...

Filmed in the Arizona Desert outside Phoenix and in the Nevada desert around Las Vegas. I have taken my time before posting footage. I first flew a Phantom at the beginning of Feb but haven't had much opportunity to practise my flying skills as I live in London under the Heathrow flight path! There is a lot to learn and as you can see in this edit the best shots, well I think so, are the really controlled slow shots where I held my composition around the cacti. I still am nowhere near good yet. I need the controls to be second nature. The effective reversing of them when facing different ways stills screws with my head the same way switching between Canon and Nikon glass does with it's opposing focus direction! A full review of this and my Phantom 2 with Zenmuse 2 axis gimbal for the ...
At the end of a VERY long and winding road through the forests of Central California, at the base of dwarfing granite slabs, sits a small chapel. This was the perfect setting for two people that adore each other, to make promises that are as strong as the mountains that surrounded them. There is so much meaning and story behind Becky and Eric's unique wedding in the valleys of Yosemite National Park. Seven years of growing together and serving God side by side, culminated into one day of excitement and emotion. All the details of the wedding were a direct reflection of who they are, and the experiences they have been through. It was an honor to witness the vulnerable vows this couple shared; they were completely transparent. We didn't force them to read their cards from one another (w...
Directed by Nico Casavecchia, Produced by: The Ebeling Group/ Boolab.tv ...I first heard about the project back in August, Peter Baxter, founder of slamdance, had some interesting ideas about what the number 16 meant to them as a festival. He wanted to establish an analogy between adolescence and the current momentum of independent filmmaking, going through so many changes like the universal access to powerful production technology and new distribution channels. In our conversation he mentioned how he felt about independent filmmaking leaving its infancy to enter into an exciting new stage. This transition, from childhood to adolescence, where the true potential of the individual is revealed, draw me immediately to a picture of one of my favourites photographers, Rineke Dijkstra. The fir...

The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson (17&21 November 2011)
This is one of the most amazing Tonight Show interviews of all time. In December 1994, while promoting Dumb & Dumber, Jim Carrey completely took over The Tonight Show. In it, he "hypnotizes" the audience and makes them applause at will, explains how he was abducted by aliens and shows the "markings" on his abdomen by drawing on it with a marker, and finally sings "White Christmas" perfectly out of key. Amazing. Enjoy!

Stephen Colbert just interviewed Eminem on a public access cable show in Monroe, Michigan I'm going to be honest with you: I don't know what to say here. I almost didn't believe this video was real, except that it's hosted on an official YouTube account (albeit unlisted and somehow found by this Michigan Redditer). So let's set the stage here. At some point very recently, future CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert filled in as host of Only in Monroe, an actual public access cable television talk show in Monroe, Michigan (population just over 20,000). It's a full show, too, at over 40 minutes long, titled "July 2015." Only in Monroe, as hosted by Colbert (who ends up interviewing the actual hosts early in the show), is a absurdist blend of public access aesthetic and Colbert witticism, com...

08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills 1. "Tell me a little about yourself." You should take this opportunity to show your communication skills by speaking clearly and concisely in an organized manner. Because there is no right or wrong answer for this question, it is important to appear friendly. 2. "What are your strengths?" This is a popular interview question. They want to know what you think of yourself. Although this is a general question, there is a wrong and right answer. The wrong answer is a generic answer saying you are organized and friendly. Although it will not hurt you during the interview, it will certainly not help you either. Answer this question based on the type of job you are applying for. 3. "What are your weaknesses?" For this answer,...

BEST VIEWED IN HD AND FULLSCREEN (with scaling off) Midnight Sun: A natural phenomenon occurring in the summer months north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle where the sun never fully sets and remains visible 24 hours a day. Shot entirely in Ultra HD 4K resolution, this short time lapse film was shot during the Icelandic Midnight Sun in June of 2011. For 17 days I traveled solo around the entire island shooting almost 24 hours, sleeping in the car, and eating whenever I had the time. During my days shooting this film I shot 38,000 images, traveled some 2900 miles, and saw some of the most amazing, beautiful, and indescribable landscapes on the planet. Iceland is absolutely one of the most beautiful and unusual places you could ever imagine. Especially during the Mi...

Today's subject is the idea of a story filter or lens. Often utilized through genre, this idea is sometimes the very best method at getting to the heart of what your story is really about. So, let's explore that idea- but rather than through genre- through animation. And let's use the work of one of the of form's greatest contemporary directors as our example. "When I was asked to make a video about Dani Andrada, at first I was super psyched and was looking forward to shooting it. Then, I realized that I had never filmed sport climbing, or even taken my camera on a rope (except to film a highball) and that I would not have time to try even once before going there. So I went to Catalunya not knowing what to except and quite nervous about screwing up while on the rope... Now that I am back, I only want to try shooting routes again! If you are looking for a pure action video, this is not what this is. This is more of a 'video illustrated interview'. If you want to know more about Dani and his motivations, you are at the right place :-) Dani has a strong reputation and all I can say is that he is as motivated as you would expect him to be. He is e...
Mary: I gotta change shoes. Mary: Okay, there we go. Now, that’s so much better. Stuart: Ladies and gentlemen, obviously, let’s begin at the beginning. Normally, the protocol is that we give people a round of applause at the end of the event. In this particular case, we’re going to break with all the protocols, because I know a lot of people that are in the audience, I’ve seen faces, I’ve seen people with reputations in the audience, and I think that all of us can say, unanimously that, Mary probably doesn’t really deeply understand how much impact her singing and her reputation has had in our lives, the way it’s shaped the love that we’ve got for the music. So, ladies and gentlemen, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, come on. [applause] Stuart: So, where to start? Let’s start with a quick q...
Although Jamie Pierre had just recently moved to Big Sky, the Bomb Snow Team was fortunate enough to spend some quality days on the mountain with him skiing, taking photos and eventually getting to know Jamie as the genuine fun-loving guy he was. The above interview was shot only a couple months ago, and was made with the soul purpose of portraying the Jamie Pierre we knew to the rest of the ski-world. The real behind the scenes Jamie who just wanted to ski and have fun. A down to earth guy who valued what was best for his family. Someone who wanted a quiet place with less distractions, less people and more skiing. It’s a damn shame we have to show this interview about our friend who is no longer with us. Our sincere hope is that at the very least, this interview will shed some light on ...

So long boy you can take my place
Got my papers, I got my pay
Pack my bags and I'll be on my way
To yellow river
Put my gun down, the war is won
Fill my glass now, the time has come
Going back to the place that I love
To yellow river
Yellow river, yellow river
Is in my mind and in my eyes
Yellow river, yellow river
Is in my blood, it's the place that I love
Got no time for explanations
Got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me sleeping underneath the moon
At yellow river
Cannon fire lingers in my mind
I'm so glad I'm still alive
I've been gone for such a long time
From yellow river
I remember the nights were cool
And I can still see the water pool
And I remember the girl that I knew
In yellow river
Yellow river, yellow river
Is in my mind and in my eyes
Yellow river, yellow river
Is in my blood, it's the place that I love
Got no time for explanations
Got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me sleeping underneath the moon
At yellow river
Yellow river, yellow river
Is in my mind and in my eyes
Yellow river, yellow river
Is in my blood, it's the place that I love
Got no time for explanations
Got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me sleeping underneath the moon
