Josh Heupel, (born March 22, 1978), is a former American college football player who was a quarterback for the University of Oklahoma. During his college football playing career, he was recognized as a consensus All-American, won numerous awards, and led Oklahoma to the 2000 national championship. Heupel became a coach after his playing career ended, and he is currently co-offensive coordinator for Oklahoma.
Heupel was raised, and played high school football, in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He is married.
His sister, Andrea Heupel, is married to Democratic U.S. politician Dan Boren.
Heupel began his collegiate playing career at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He redshirted in 1996 and saw action in four games as a freshman in 1997, but he suffered an ACL injury during spring practice in 1998, pushing him down the team's depth chart. He transferred to Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, where he beat out Fred Salanoa as the team's starting quarterback. Heupel passed for 2,308 yards and 28 touchdowns, despite sharing playing time with Salanoa. He held a scholarship offer from Utah State University, but committed to Oklahoma after meeting with Mike Leach, the Sooners' new offensive coordinator.
Samuel Jacob Bradford (born November 8, 1987) is an American football quarterback for the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He was the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, after playing college football for the University of Oklahoma. In 2008, as a redshirt sophomore, Bradford became the second sophomore to win a Heisman Trophy. He also holds the NCAA record for most touchdown passes by a freshman quarterback, with 36.
In his first season in the NFL, Bradford set the record for most completions by a rookie in NFL history, which helped earn him the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Bradford was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City, where he starred in football, basketball and golf. As a senior quarterback for his high school football team in 2006, he threw for 2,029 yards and 17 touchdowns in 12 games. His senior year in basketball, he averaged a double-double.
Bradford was a three-star recruit not that highly ranked among the high school class of 2006, with his highest ranking being No. 12 among only pro-style quarterbacks by recruiting source Rivals.com, behind Pat Devlin, Juice Williams, Josh Freeman, and being overshadowed by the likes of five-star recruits Mitch Mustain, Matthew Stafford and Tim Tebow.
Jay Norvell is a football coach and former player.
He played at the collegiate level at the University of Iowa. He also played linebacker in the National Football League for the Chicago Bears for one season.
Norvell has served as the offensive coordinator of Nebraska and UCLA Bruins football team. He is currently co-offensive coordinator at Oklahoma.
Norvell was born Merritt Jay Norvell on March 28, 1963 in Madison, Wisconsin.
