Nations Cup Results

Australia struggled at the Showjumping Nations Cup series in Wellington, Florida last week finishing last among the 10 competing nations.

Australia was represented by Harley Brown, Thaisa Erwin, Mark Lindh and Matt Williams.

Williams and Brown obtained the two best results for the team returning eight faults and eight jump penalties/one jump penalty respectively. Erwin and Lidh both struggled and Australia finished 10th, one place begind Venezuela with Germany, Ireland and Canada claiming podium finishes.

Three Australian’s in Four-Star Grand Prix

The Four-Star grand prix, saw three Australians among the 53 listed starters.

Erwin, Brown and Angelli were eliminated in the early rounds leaving Australias hopes resting on the shoulders of Matt Williams. Williams and his top horse Watch Me VD Mangelaar had a faultless first round and he progressed to compete for the top spot against 10 riders from 7 countries. Among them were Michaeld-Beerbaum of Germany and current Olympic champion, Eric Lamaze.

William produced a great ride, finishing with two on the floor for eight faults in 43.62 seconds leaving him with a repectable 10th place finish. The winner was Britains Nick Skeltop who completed the course in 36.60 with all furniture left standing. Kraut and Moloney took out the other podium spots.
