BLØF is an award-winning four-piece Dutch rock band from Vlissingen, Zeeland, the Netherlands, which has become popular regionally and internationally for its music, its frequent collaborations with bands from other parts of the world, willingness to incorporate other genres into their "sound", and focus on bettering the world around them. It has twice won the prestigious Edison Award for "Best Band" in the Netherlands.

BLØF is a Dutch Pop-Rock band, founded in 1992 by musician Peter Slager, and originally consisted of four musicians: bassist Peter Slager, guitarist Paskal Jakobsen, Bas Kennis, playing keyboards, and Henk Tjoonk as drummer. By late 1994, the band recorded their first album, Naakt Onder De Hemel, (roughly translated as "Naked under the heavens"), which took just one week. Drummer Henk Tjoonk suggested distributing it themselves, and their self-produced, self-promoted record was a hit in Zeeland; a province of The Netherlands. The record was well-received by critics and drew enough attention to score promotional support and a contract from EMI Music, to take over distribution of the album nationwide. The single "Aan de Kust" became a hit song in Zeeland, despite the fact that it got little airplay from national radio stations. Keyboardist Bas Kennis credits their first rudimentary website that was up and running as early as 1995, before other local bands. His maintaining of the website gave fans access to the band and a way to find out more about their music and tour dates. BLØF received an award for "Best New Talent" for the album. The money that was included with the award was used for recording of their second album, Helder, which was released in September 1997.

Ilse Annoeska de Lange (born 13 May 1977) is a Dutch country and pop singer, better known as Ilse DeLange (American spelling).

Ilse Annoeska de Lange was born on May 13, 1977 in Almelo, Netherlands. She started her career at the age of 8 as a lip-synching artist, which won her several contests. De Lange drew greater attention after switching to a live repertoire in both regional and national talent shows in Hilversum (the Dutch city where most TV-programs are recorded). This helped her book some live-performances on national television. She formed a duo with guitarist Joop Liefland, who introduced her to country music.

In 1994 Ilse performed at the Dutch Country Music Awards. Despite positive reviews, nothing happened with her career. She did get in touch with representatives of Warner Music but it took several years of negotiation before Warner Music decided to offer Ilse a contract. In 1996 DeLange joined the popgroup Wij where the group released the single "De Oorlog Meegemaakt" ("Experienced The War"). However the single did not chart the Dutch Top 40.

Cristina Branco (born 1972 in Almeirim, Ribatejo, Portugal) is a Portuguese musician.

Branco was originally drawn to jazz and forms of Portuguese music before finally opting for fado after being introduced to the music of Amália Rodrigues by her grandfather. Branco studied the poems from which major fado lyrics are taken. Branco continues to work on her fado repertory, accompanied by Custódio Castelo on guitar and as composer.

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Perry grew up with gospel music, and during her first year of high school she pursued a music career as Katy Hudson, releasing her first studio album called Katy Hudson which failed to chart. She recorded a solo album later, which was never released. After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry.

She first gained recognition with the release of her first mainstream album, One of the Boys in 2008, which spawned three Billboard Hot 100 top-ten songs—"I Kissed A Girl", "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas". Perry supported the album with her Hello Katy Tour. In 2010, her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), which topped the Billboard 200 chart, and spawned five number one singles—"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"—Teenage Dream was the only album (after Michael Jackson's Bad)—to do so, and the first female in history to achieve this milestone. She embarked on the California Dreams Tour, which grossed nearly $60 million worldwide. Perry re-released the album under the name of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection on March 26, 2012, and the re-release has already spawned the number-one single "Part of Me".

Sabrina Starke (born August 9, 1979, Paramaribo, Suriname) is a Surinam-Dutch singer/songwriter from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her style is a mix of soul, folk, rhythm & blues and jazz.

Her debut album, Yellow Brick Road was released on October 1, 2008. It was produced and recorded in Los Angeles, California by Dutch producers Beat Royalty (Chris Kooreman and Edo Plasschaert). The album was mixed in Burbank, California by three time Grammy nominee Brad Gilderman.6 December 2009

The first single from the album, "Do For Love" was a hit song in The Netherlands.^{[citation needed]}

On October 27, 2008 she signed to Blue Note, which will re-release Yellow Brick Road. On March 9 the album went gold in The Netherlands.^{[citation needed]}

She has won the 2008 Edison Award Best Newcomer.
