Manohar Arjun Surve (1944 – 11 January 1982), better known as Manya Surve, was an infamous Indian urban dacoit and gangster in the Bombay underworld. His death in 1982 during an encounter with the Bombay police became known as the city's first recorded encounter killing. However, the spate of encounter killings only increased in the late 1980s and further rose after the 1993 Bombay bombings; a total of 622 alleged criminals were killed in police encounters from 1982 to 2004.

Born in 1944, Surve moved to Bombay with his mother and stepfather. He was a B.A. graduate from Kirti College and formed a gang of students during his years there, due to the influence of his stepbrother Bhargav Dada. Bhargav was a feared thug from Agar Bazar in Dadar. In 1969, Surve was involved in the murder of a man named Dandekar, with his stepbrother, Bhargav and an associate, Manya Podhkar. The trio were soon arrested by Police Inspector E.S. Dabolkar and were subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment.

While incarcerated at the Yerwada Central Jail in Poona, Surve developed a fierce rivalry with another gangster, Suhas Bhatkar a.k.a. "Potya". Annoyed by Surve’s terror tactics, the prison authorities had him transferred to Ratnagiri jail. There, he took part in a hunger strike and lost almost 20 kg, before being shifted to the local civil hospital. Surve utilised this opportunity to successfully evade custody on 14 November 1979, and returned to Bombay, having served over nine years of his sentence.

Ronit Roy (born Ronit Bose Roy in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India on 11 October 1965) is an Indian television and Bollywood actor, known for the roles of Rishabh Bajaj, Mihir Virani and Aparajit Deb. He is now in the serial Adaalat as KD Pathak. Roy has been referred to as the Amitabh Bachchan of small screen. The actor also owns a security business, providing security to Bollywood stars and production houses.

On October 27, 2011 - Ronit Roy was arrested by Mumbai Police for rash and negligent driving after he was involved in a road accident in Amboli area of suburban Mumbai. He is said to be returning from a Diwali party when his high speeding Mercedes car hit a Wagon R injuring 4 people, 1 of whom was seriously injured. However he got bail after few hours and was released.

Vivek Oberoi (born 3 September 1976) is an Indian actor. He is the son of Bollywood actor Suresh Oberoi and Yashodhara Oberoi.

Born to a Punjabi father and a Tamil mother, Vivek attended Mayo college in Ajmer. At an actors' workshop in London he was spotted by the director of New York University who took Vivek off to New York, where he completed his Masters Degree in film acting. Vivek also worked as a script writer in India.

Vivek Oberoi made his debut with Ram Gopal Varma's film Company. He received Filmfare Awards for Best Debut as well as Best Supporting Actor. He then starred in the action films, Road and Dum. In Dum, he played the role of a man trying to become a part of Indian police but faces many troubles with a police inspector.

Next, he starred in Saathiya (2002) directed by Shaad Ali. The film was a big hit at the box office and earned him a Filmfare nomination in the Best Actor category. He starred in a comedy Masti (2004). In 2004, he also starred in Yuva . In 2005 he acted the title character in the film Kisna: The Warrior Poet.
