Photoshop Smoke Effect
There are many methods out there for creating digital smoke. I stumbled upon this particualr method while trying to get a soft water effect. I adjusted it a bit and the result is this technique for creating smoke. The brush panel settings used to paint the initial white lines are as follows: I start off with a soft edge round brush (hardness set to 0%). Airbrush and Smoothing are checked. Other Dynamics is checked with the Opacity Jitter at 0%, Control is off, and Flow Jitter at 0% with Control set to pen pressure (I use a Cintiq). PS: Apologies for the bad audio.

Cardinal Tetra spawning
For full information on my aquarium, petskeepersguide.com After a 20% water change, the unexpected happened. Started with these Cardinal Tetra suddenly became 10x more active and chase each other around. Then I realized somehow it triggered their spawning. Maybe the water change resembled a heavy rainfall in the wild? You can see most of the little eggs being eaten by other fish and cardinal themselves instantly. One Black Phantom Tetra got too excited at eating eggs...too excited...even her color had changed lol. I wasn't prepared to breed Cardinal Tetra. The would be fry tank was acting as a hospital tank for some newly arrived Neon Rainbowfish with mouth rot at the time I shot this video. To breeding Cardinal Tetra, maybe another time. Many online sources claim that Cardinal Tetra have to have specific requirements in order to trigger their spawning. It doesn't seem to be the case here. My tap water has PH of 8.0. And the PH in the aquarium is about 7.6~7.8. "They need acidic soft water"... yeah right :X My T5HO high light is still on "They spawn in the dark"... yeah right :D I haven't fed any live or frozen food in the last 2 weeks. Only pellets. "They need to be fed live food for conditioning"... yeah right :P Looks like it is much easier to breed Cardinal Tetra (at least to have them spawn) than what was said in the book. :) I'd think raising the fry would be more of a challenge.

Addictive Soft Pretzels recipe
This is how I make one of my favorite snacks: soft pretzels! They are very similar to Auntie Anne's but better. So moist and buttery, you won't be able to eat only one... Or even only two. Ingredients: 4 Tsp. active dry yeast, 1 teaspoon white sugar, 1 1/4 cups warm water, 4 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1 tbs. veggetable oil, 1/2 cup baking soda, 4 cups hot water, 1/4 cup kosher salt, 1 stick melted butter.

How to Make MILO Bagels (Recipe) ミロ ベーグルの作り方 (レシピ)
Soft and chewy with a slightly sweet MILO flavor! Yummy XD It goes great with Anko (sweet Azuki red bean paste)!!! Also ham and cheese surprisingly match well. hehe --------------------------------- How to Make MILO Bagels Difficulty: Easy Time: 40min Number of servings: 2 Ingredients: 180g (6.4oz.) bread flour 50g (1.8oz.) Nestle MILO 1/2 tsp. dry yeast 1/4 tsp. salt 120ml warm water Directions: 1. Place bread flour, MILO, dry yeast in a large bowl. Add warm water (38C-40C=100F-104F) and roughly mix the ingredients. Then add salt and knead for about 5 minutes until the dough is uniform and smooth. (You can knead the dough on the counter. Salt controls the rising, so it is better added later. If your dough is too soft, add little more flour. But it is better soft than stiff to get them incorporated. Adding water later won't mix well...) 2. Divide the dough into 2 portions and shape into balls. Wrap each in plastic wrap and let rest for 5 minutes. (Meanwhile, you can wash dishes.) 3. Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape. Fold bottom up twice, leaving one side open. Wrap around the other side with the open side to form a doughnut shape, sealing the ends securely. 4. Wrap in plastic wrap again and let rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 428F (220C). Bring a large pot of water to a boil 5. Add 1 tbsp. of honey in a boiling water (it gives the bagels a nice shine). Cook for about 1 minute on each side until the bagels have a shriveled look. Then immediately ...

Making japchae (Korean stir fried noodles and vegetables)
Full recipe: www.maangchi.com This time I make delicious job chae (also spelled japchae, jabchae, chapchae, chopchae or jobchae), Korean-style stir fried noodles and vegetables. Ingredients: • Starch noodles ("dangmyun") • 150 grams of beef • 1 bunch of spinach • 1 medium size carrot • 1 medium size onion • mushrooms (5 dried shiitake and 1 package of white mushrooms) • 3 cloves of garlic • 7-8 green onions • soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, pepper, and sesame seeds See my website for photos and details of ingredients: www.maangchi.com Makes 4 servings. How to prepare your ingredients before stir frying: 1. Soak 5 dried shitake mushrooms in warm water for a few hours until they become soft. Squeeze the water out of them and slice thinly. 2. Slice a package of white mushrooms (2 cups' worth). 3. Cut a carrot into thin matchstick-shaped pieces 5 cm long. 4. Cut 7 -8 green onions into 7 cm long pieces. 5. Slice one onion thinly. 6. Slice 150 grams of beef into thin strips. Now let's start! 1. Boil 2 bunches of noodles in boiling water in a big pot for about 3 minutes. When the noodles are soft, drain them and put in a large bowl. 2. Cut the noodles several times by using scissors and add 1 tbs of soy sauce and 1 tbs of sesame oil. Mix it up and set aside. *tip: Take one sample and taste it to see whether or not it's cooked properly. If it feels soft, it's finished. 3. In the boiling water, add a bunch of spinach and stir it gently for 1 minute. Then take it out and rinse it in ...

Healthy, Whole Grain Tortillas
millersgrainhouse.com EASY WHOLE WHEAT TORTILLAS Makes approx. 16-18 6-8" tortillas Ingredients: 4 ½ - 5 Cups fresh milled Soft White Wheat or Kamut or Spelt ½ tsp baking soda 2 tsp Sea salt ¼ Cup olive oil 1 ½ Cups warm water Instructions: Drizzle half of the oil over the top of dry mixture. Mix with either forks or pastry cutter until almost a fine powder, and then repeat this procedure until oil is gone. CAUTION - you MAY NOT end up using all the water. Drizzle half of the water over the top of oiled flour and mix - should still be dry. Now while mixing drizzle down the sides of the bowl, turn bowl occasionally to make sure all sides are drizzled. Continue mixing (not necessarily pouring water) until a soft dough is formed. It should be moist and slightly gooey to the touch. Plop dough out on a piece of cellophane cut long enough to form it into a tube (should be about the diameter and length of an inner cardboard of a paper towel roll) cover and let sit in fridge for at least 10 but no more than 30 minutes. While tortilla press (or griddle) is heating divide into equal balls shaped like hockey pucks. Using a gram or oz scale to weigh the total dough and then each ball will make them uniform. Begin pressing the ball that you first made first and work your way through the line of dough balls in that order. The setting of the hockey pucks helps the tortilla hold together better. Follow manufacture directions on tortilla press or press out by hand with rolling pin ...
