Denver (officially, The City and County of Denver) (/ˈdɛnvər/; Arapaho: Niinéniiniicíihéhe') is the capital and most populous municipality of the U.S. state of Colorado. As of 2014, Denver is also the most populous county in Colorado. Denver is located in the South Platte River Valley on the western edge of the High Plains just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The Denver downtown district is located immediately east of the confluence of Cherry Creek with the South Platte River, approximately 12 mi (19 km) east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Denver is nicknamed the Mile-High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile (5,280 ft or 1,610 m) above sea level, making it one of the highest major cities in the United States. The 105th meridian west of Greenwich, the longitudinal reference for the Mountain Time Zone, passes directly through Denver Union Station.
Channel 31 refers to several television stations:
The following television stations broadcast on digital channel 31 (UHF frequencies covering 573.25-577.75 MHz) in Canada:
The following television stations operate on virtual channel 31 in Canada:
The following television stations operate on virtual channel 31 in Mexico:
KDVR, virtual channel 31 (UHF digital channel 32), is a Fox-affiliated television station located in Denver, Colorado, United States. The station is owned by the Tribune Broadcasting subsidiary of the Tribune Media Company, as part of a duopoly with CW affiliate KWGN-TV (channel 2). The two stations share studio facilities located on East Speer Boulevard in Denver's Speer neighborhood (to the immediate south of the studios of KMGH-TV [channel 7]); KDVR maintains transmitter facilities located atop Lookout Mountain, near Golden. On cable, the station is available on Comcast Xfinity channel 13, and in high definition on digital channel 655 & on Century Link Prism channel 31 & high definition channel 1031 .
The station operates a full-time satellite station, KFCT (UHF digital channel 21, virtual channel 22.1 via PSIP) in Fort Collins, which maintains transmitter facilities atop Horsetooth Mountain, just outside Fort Collins. KFCT covers areas of northern Colorado, being that area's only full-power television station, that receive a marginal to non-existent signal from KDVR, though there is significant overlap between the coverage areas of both KDVR and KFCT's signals otherwise (including in Fort Collins proper and the nearby cities of Greeley, Windsor and Longmont). KFCT is a straight simulcast of KDVR; on-air references to KFCT are limited to FCC-mandated hourly station identifications during newscasts and other programming.
Recently went through my old VHS tapes and made DVDs out of them. While looking through one such tape I found Grimlock telling me to "Come on up to TV 31" - the catch phrase for KDVR at the time (It still exists now as a Fox Affiliate!) HOW my favorite transformer ever said something so personalized I'll never know, but am glad to have found it!
I looked everywhere to find this song of my childhood to no avail, it's a jingle/song for a local TV station in Denver that NOW is a Fox affiliate. I've had it on a VHS forever, but only recently was able to get it to a computer file.
Yet another one of those postings that was recorded by a much younger and cuter version of yours truly. These breaks come from the 1997 Halloween Special airings of "King Of The Hill" and "Unhappily Ever After" (which aired back-to-back on different stations--hence, two stations listed). As always, the main content has been cut out for copyright purposes. These aired (if memory serves) between 6:30 and 7:30 P.M. on (the rest of this is accurate) Sunday, October 26th, 1997 on Denver, Colorado FOX affiliate KDVR and (then-)WB affiliate KWGN. By the way, why the hell hasn't Unhappily Ever After ever made it to DVD? Travel video about destination Denver in the United States of America. Denver is the capital of the U.S. state of Colorado and is located at 1,600 metres above sea level, on a sunny high plateau on the edge of the Rocky Mountains. A number of brave pioneers once believed that Denver would be an ideal centre of trade and despite Indian hostilities and various other hazards, they decided to build a town in this region. The 16th Street Mall is the city's pride. Inaugurated in 1982, it is a splendid avenue that boasts the longest pedestrianised area in the U.S.A. Trees, fountains and sculptures adorn the street as well as horses and carriages. On Arapahoe Street, close to 16th Street ,is the Daniels And Fisher Tower. The end of August is always a great time for adventure, no matter where you are. My girl (http://lindihop.tumblr.com/http://lindihop.tumblr.com/) and I decided to hit a new city and Denver seemed like a reasonable option. Our good friends Cait and Alex were kind enough to lend us their apartment and dog for the weekend. My morning routine quickly became exploring the Capitol Hill neighborhood with Annee. She showed me around Civic Center Park, the state capitol building, the Denver Art Museum, and a few more hidden treasures. She's a pretty great guide for a dog. The girl and I decided to get out of the city for an afternoon and Garden of the Gods sounded like it was probably the coolest option possible. We were right. Cool weather, giant rock spires, dangerous situations. With the exce...
