Train ride to Interlaken along Lake Brienz puts us in prime position for some outstanding mountain scenery, including trips to the Shilthorn, Murren, Lauterbrunnen Valley, Jungfrau, then hiking back down to catch a bus to Trummelbach Falls, then to Grindelwald where we hike into the glacial canyon and then have a lovely dinner, Swiss style.

Lugano, Switzerland AT04
We are now in the best of all possible worlds, in this Italian section of Switzerland where we have the efficiency of the Swiss while enjoying the romance of Italy. The Italian essence brings us the worlds most popular cuisine, pastel, stucco buildings, musical language, relaxed attitudes, couture fashion, old-world charms...while we get the modern efficiency and courtesy of the clean Swiss. One cannot hope for much more than this rich mixture, and it is set in one of the most beautiful spots of Europe. There are plenty of attractions to keep you busy right in the heart of Lugano, and our hotel is conveniently situated in the center, so everything here is easy walking distance. The heart of the small town of Lugano is devoted to the pedestrian, with shops and cafes, and a waterfront promenade with vistas across the lake. We enjoy a visit to the nearby tiny town of Gandria, which has the attractiveness of an old village, and a pedestrian zone in the center ideal for strolling. It is a picturesque spot with narrow lanes that climb the hill as gentle staircases rather than roadways. Here in Lugano on the shores of scenic Lake Lugano surrounded by mountains the two great cultures of Europe come together: the Latin and Germanic—and what a combination it is!
The view from Luganos waterfront is an unforgettable picture of shimmering blue water dotted with white sails, ruffled by the wakes of small craft that ply from shore to shore. It is a picturesque spot for a tasty meal on an outdoor terrace of the enticing restaurants that are clustered here. Various boat rides are also available here for your free time, if you wish to explore the other villages along the lake.

Helicopter Flight Over the Matterhorn / Swiss Alps - HD 1080p
Part of a video production for the Fin Bec winery in Switzerland (www.finbec.ch). A manic and magnificent couple days of wine, spray paint and incredible views. This helicopter flight started at the winery in Sion and went through the Alps right over the top of the Matterhorn...truly incredible. Sorry for the camera shake, I didnt have a gyroscope stabilizer.

Glacier Express: scenic ride through Alps - Switzerland 7/13 (HD)
(Re-upload in HD) - The Glacier Express is a train which connects the two major mountain resorts of St. Moritz and Zermatt in the Swiss Alps.
It is not an "express" in the sense of being a high-speed train but rather in the sense that it provides a one-seat ride for a long duration travel. In fact it has the reputation of being the slowest express train in the world.
It takes 7,5 hours to journey across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass on the highest point at 2,033 m (6,670 ft) in altitude. The entire line is metre gauge (narrow gauge railway).
The Glacier Express is run jointly by two private Swiss railways, the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) and the Rhätische Bahn (RhB), who also operate the regular local trains and freight trains over the same route.
The panorama cars were introduced in 2006.
I decided to take this trip after I have seen a scene of the Glacier Express in the IMAX documentary film "The Alps".

Mürren, Switzerland: Exploring the Swiss Alps by Bike
Mürren is a good starting point for mountain biking, popular here in the Alps. Small service roads and well-marked intersections make biking easy. Follow Rick on his loop trip down into the valley floor where he passes through Lauterbrunnen, Trümmelbach Falls, a cozy campground, and takes a funicular ride back up the mountain. Titlis Cliff Walk Bridge in the Swiss Alps - World's Scariest and Highest Suspension Bridge
(3,000m) Above Sea Level.
Europe's highest suspension bridge has been opened in Switzerland at an altitude of over 3,000 meters. It's not for the faint-hearted. The narrow 100-meter bridge leads across an abyss 500 meters deep.
A Swiss cable car company has built what it says is Europe's highest suspension bridge in the Swiss Alps to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Engelberg-Gerschnialp cableway in January 1913.
Crossing the "Titlis Cliff Walk," which is just one meter wide and stretches over 500-meter abyss promises to be a dizzying experience.
At 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) above sea level, the vertigo-inducing footbridge is meant to help visitors "experience the height, vastness and majesty of the mountains," says cable car operator Titlis Rotair, which opened the attraction on Friday.
