Welcome to Ross House

Ross House is the only self managed and community owned non profit building in Australia and has been an important part of the social justice and environment community in Melbourne for over two decades.

Ross House is a place for community groups to grow, connect and evolve.

The five storey heritage listed Ross House building in Flinders Lane provides affordable, accessible office space to over 50 small non profit groups working towards environmental and social justice. As a part of Ross House, small community groups have access to networks, shared resources and shared experiences, allowing them to realise their potential.

Ross House also offers affordable meeting room hire and other resources to anyone who might like to use them.

By choosing to use these facilities, you are supporting the social justice and environment movement in Melbourne.

Ross House is situated on the land of the Wurundjeri people, the traditional owners of this land.


LEARNING HUB SERIES 2013

The Learning Hub Series are 1 hour long lunch time workshops held on the 1st  Wednesday of each month from 12.00pm to 1.00pm on the Ground floor, Sue Healy room.

Workshops are open to all our members & tenants - outside facility users are also more then welcome to book in.

 How ICT savvy is your organisation?

The Infoxchange Information Communication and Technology (ICT) team will demonstrate how you can audit and improve your ICT systems and procedures. Attend this information session to learn about what software, hardware and services Infoxchange has to offer. Topics to be covered include: product demonstrations; the audit process and outcomes; the benefits of cloud services; IT support and what would suit your organisation. Facilitated by the Infoxchange ICT services team.

Learning to read music for beginners

Would you like to be able to decipher what those musical dots on the page really mean? In one hour, Wendy will give you the basic tools you

need to become a fluent music reader. Wendy Brentnall-Wood, founder of Wendy's Music, and has been providing Music education in Melbourne for over 30 years. Wendy Brentall-Wood Teaching Method is based on a simple, step by step approach to learning to read and play music.

Growing food in small spaces

This workshop is perfect for those who live in small spaces and want to grow some of their own food. Topics include: learning how to assess a space for growing, whether it’s a courtyard, a balcony or just a windowsill; talking about plant selection and      growing from seed, explore how to turn your waste (food scraps, paper) into nutrients and soil for your plants and prepare some seedlings to take home!

  Reducing stress through effective breathing

This workshop will focus on how breath directly relates to our stress levels and health. Come and learn about effective breathing techniques and how it can transform your health and how to use your breath for effective stress management and deep relaxation.
