A core part of my love and knowledge of music from childhood, like many, is attributable to Disney, and specifically the talents of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, Danny Troob, Michael Starobin, Elton John, Stephen Schwartz and co. So this song is a tribute to those storytellers - the filmmakers, writers, artists, animators, actors and actresses, singers, musicians, composers and many other incredible people - who created those worlds we discovered as children. And that even though as we grow older and find it is a rare thing for the real world to measure up, that it is we as adults, whether as creatives or simply as parents or peers to a younger one, who are now the ones to create those worlds for others. The magic lives on, and it’s in that which you create.
