TALKING TO GOD (HITBOD'DUT) complete (90 minutes)
Breslav Hassidim and Franciscan Catholics are told to talk to God in the woods. Gestalt Therapy provides us with many tools to help us get past our own ego trips and really speak to God. Part 1 of this project shows us "dumb hitbod'dut", all the wrong things to do, while parts 2-7 of this project attempt to demonstrate some of the right things to do to be more successful if and when you do talk to God.

PREFACE
(a) ON THE HYPOTHESIS OF THIS EXPERIMENT
The teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslav, as embodied in today's Breslav Hassidic sect of Judaism embody a form of what traditionally goes by the name of "Pietism". Pietism emphasizes faith and simplicity over against complex intellectual explanations of religious matters. But from the day that the Baal Shem Tov, it is said, sought God by talking to Him in the woods and jumping back and forth from one side of a stream to the other, until the day Nachman published his collected essays, "Likutei Moharan", much water in the stream of Jewish Pietism has passed under the bridge. That is to say, Likutei Moharan is not simple stuff. In order to write what he writes in those pages, Rabbi Nachman had to be well versed in the complex tradition of Pietist religion. Whether he got it from the original sources or from other compilations, he had to know something about the Neoplatonism of Philo, Ibn Gabirol, Judah Halevy , Abu-l-Barakat and Leone Ebreo. He had to know something about the responses of Hasdai Crescas to the Aristotelian Jewish tradition which crystallized in Maimonides "Guide For The Perplexed". To these two traditions, Nachman of Breslav added a strong emphasis upon the philosophy of language, in the sense that the Word of God is coming to us from a Jewish God who in a profound mystical sense is a speaking God, speaking to us and speaking through us. Though it is hard to find precedents to this in Judaism, we can find it in the work of the Christian theologian Johann Georg Hamann, which appeared, shortly before the time Nachman was born, in Konigsberg, East Prussia, not far from where Nachman lived in Eastern Europe. In the work of Hamann we find much of the philosophy of language which Nachman incorporated into his teachings. In other words, since the teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslav are so saturated with the complex tradition of Pietism, they are anything but a return to the naivete of the Bal Shem Tov. In this respect Nachman is deliberately deceptive when he tells his disciples again and again to keep it simple, and rely mainly on prayer.
But he also tells them to study! So he is not preaching mindlessness. Nor is he teaching blind following. His elevation of "the tsaddik of the generation" to the level of highest authority in the community of Hassidim is to be read both in the literal, "pshat", sense, and also in the profoundest philosophical sense as the Moses-Mashiach element potentially available in every person who submits himself to the theological process outlined in Likutei Moharan. Traditionally in Judaism it is said that each Jew shares in the living reality of Moses receiving the Torah on Mt. Sinai, but for Nachman this notion is merely the tip of an iceberg which is available to those who take the trouble to fathom the ideas of Likutei Moharan.
In view of these elements contained in Nachman's teachings, it should not be surprising that in what follows here I discover profundity rather than naivete in Nachman's advice to his disciples that they ought to sequester themselves every day and talk directly to God. Of course, we can talk naively to God in the manner of Tevye in Fiddler On the Roof. That procedure here I label "dumb hitbod'dut". Dumb hitbod'dut in that sense is in most cases better than no hitbod'dut at all. It can't hurt, and it might even be more useful than talking to oneself. But I am after bigger fish than that. My goal here is to begin to apply the principles of Likutei Moharan itself to the process of hitbod'dut. This introduction is not the place to spell out the complex principles of Likutei Moharan. You will find some of that in the sequel. Here I will just outline my basic assmptions for this project, which are that
(i) Since Neoplatonism and Hamann's philosophy of language are examples of dialectical thinking, therefore Likutei Moharan likewise is dialectical thinking.

Larry's Testimony in Support of HB 2372
Testimony of Larry Halloran in support of HB 2372;
Chairman Kinzer and Members of the House Judiciary Committee,
We ask for your support of HB 2372; An Act concerning immigration; requiring verification of employment eligibility and making other amendments concerning immigration.
The fundamental question today is not illegal immigration itself. If we are a nation of laws and are faithful to our obligations as citizens or legislators then we will rightfully conclude that the rule of law is the bedrock foundation of our society and passage of this legislation should require little debate.
I would not dispute that employer and citizen alike have found the blind eye beneficial to their pocket book but financial gain, open borders or humanitarian compassion are not acceptable substitutes for the rule of law. Yesterdays benefit (however perceived) is today's liability as our citizens find themselves struggling to meet the increased burden of illegal immigration on our society that cannot be measured in financial terms alone.
The blessings and benefits of America are bountiful. But, if they are to be preserved for our posterity and those seeking the benefit of citizenship they must be secured by principled adherence to our state and federal Constitutions.
Illegal immigration is a festering cancer that damages both our society and those unlawfully seeking employment. It creates the necessity for a second society operating under the radar that inhibits the necessary assimilation of new immigrants into the America family. We are no longer concerned with a few thousand illegal immigrants that could be easily absorbed but rather tens of millions that now tax the limits of our social networks. It is past time for the half measured approaches, nod and wink policies and felonious excuses of citizen, employer and legislator alike related to the employment eligibility of illegal immigrants are put to rest. It is time that a lawful approach to employment eligibility verification becomes the rule for all employers and the accepted social norm for all citizens. Of even greater importance is that you, the citizen legislator, honor your oath of office and uphold the rule of law.
Our Founders studied the laws and customs of many nations (both failed and existing) and took from them guidance for our Constitution that best protected a free people and society. For over 200 years, our Constitution has served as the legal binder for our citizens and those wishing to assimilate into a free society. Today, many seek to dilute the authority of our Constitution through substitution of unlawful privileges that in essence establish an equal but separate society within our borders. A society that stands in stark contrast and in opposition to the fundamental necessity of assimilation at the expense of individual liberties guaranteed to all by our Constitution. Such practices serve to disadvantage the citizens and legal immigrants that play by the rules and adhere to our laws by granting unearned favor to the illegal immigrant.
Surely, we are all aware of the inequities, consequences and unquestionable failures of equal but separate jurisprudence practiced at times within our own society. To turn a blind eye or foster such practices is treasonous to our founding principles, documents and the faith of those who gave all to defend and preserve the greatest grant of freedom ever known to man; America.
The challenges before us in preserving the free society and America are indeed great but do include a provision for national suicide. Tolerance does not beget equal but separate in a free society but instead requires assimilation through shared core values and equal application of the laws
Thank you for your favorable support of HB 2372, your service and the defense of freedom for all.
Respectfully,
Larry Halloran, Chairman

USA, you will get arrested for daring to file a complaint against a cop!
US cops, the bully sociopaths, do whatever they want, and it's getting worse by the minute, it's The police state! US cops only "help" when they have no choice! USA cops are TERRORIZING the population, USA cops are TERRORISTS.
That's why they join the police, to be able to hurt people and get away with it.
US cops are World known for being Nazi, and a couple of examples are the smashing of cars' taillights and the all time favourite "get out of my town"!
US cops are nothing but a gang, they always protect each other no matter what and they lie as a group to cover their crimes, and they even execute organized personal revenge/retaliation against single persons or even against entire neighbourhoods, etc.
US cops use their public police powers for their own private personal interests and personal gain.
The USA urgently needs some kind of FEDERAL agency with the only mission to fight abusive cops and police crimes. Such federal agents would not be cops themselves, and they would not have authority over civilians but only over cops.
Cops are not there to protect you, cops are not your friend, do not be stupid.
Do not answer any questions from cops, remain silent, only ask these questions that cops must by Law answer:
"I do not answer questions" "I am being detained or am I free to go?" "If detained, why?" "Why did you stop me?" "What is you name and number?" "I do not allow any search" "I want a lawyer" and also:
Never confess you did something wrong...always deny it...no matter what they say or what bullshit evidence they show you...stay silent. Never give permission and never open the door of you home or private property to the cops...no matter what they say...and never even if they claim they have a court warrant...they are liars...and even if they do have a warrant let them force their way him.
Sign no papers...sign absolutely nothing, remain motionless, if being arrested put your hands behind your back and do not resist arrest in any way...unless you think the cop is going to murder you...and if so try your best to kill the pig by surprise. If a cop wants you to pull over while you are driving you car...try to pull over at a place with light and with people watching.
Use Qik, the new app for your phone, that you can use to videotape the police using your phone and at the same time to a secure server on the Internet. So when the police delete or rob your phone, you will still have the video evidence.
