This is not a joke, I am leaving my channel and giving elevator photography a rest. One of the primary reasons of the matter, is that elevator filming, for me at least, used to be for fun and exploration. But, thanks to today's society, elevator photography is more of a chore now rather than a hobby. Whenever I go filming, I am usually paranoid about the staff or security taking notice of me filming their elevators. Think about it, you are doing absolutely nothing wrong just by appreciating a building's elevator by documenting it. Yet, If you look at it in the onlooker's view, it looks very shady. Not to mention if you were to get caught filming, good luck explaining your end of the story without looking like a whacko. "I'm an elevator photographer!", Of course you are. Another factor, and, my biggest factor for leaving, is because my elevator photography is a well kept secret from my family. Besides my father, he is the only one that I can trust. I've been doing this on the sly for pretty much 6 years already, and I have almost had some major slip-ups. This has given me phases of severe anxiety and depression, and if you can relate, you will know that going through both is the absolute worst combination. Adding onto this, my secrecy has given me a poor relationship with my mother. I don't want to hurt her. Another asset for my leave is, sadly, other photographers. And not to point fingers, sorry-not-sorry, specifically another northern California filmer. I am speaking of those who can't get their facts straight, or do not appreciate a simple fact given to them by the original photographer of a said elevator.
This doesn't mean I won't film anymore, BUT it is going to be HIGHLY unlikely that I will. I am 98% Positive on this leave, so don't get your hopes up.
And while on the Subject of filmers, I would love to give respect for the following who have had a positive impact on me, and are some of my best friends:
Alpaljl
FujitecElevator
JonathanElevator29
JaymieTreadwell
ElevNick0222212
Magnolia State Elevators
Dieselducy,
Elevator3322 & PAElevators
...and last but not least, NYElevators and Suejoshappy. You two are some of my besties..
Oh, and Filechia deserves a shout out too just because.
