CHFI-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts an adult contemporary format at 98.1 on the FM dial in Toronto, Ontario. Like most Toronto radio and TV channels, it broadcasts atop the CN Tower with and ERP of 44 kW and has a sizeable amount of American listeners. It is the most-listened to radio station in Canada and the most listened to station in Toronto according to the Bureau of Broadcast Measurement (BBM) ratings (occasionally sharing the top spot with Bell Media Radio-owned Hot AC station CHUM-FM).

The station was launched in 1957, and was the first FM outlet in Toronto to provide its own distinct programming rather than simulcasting an AM station. CHFI also initially provided a special muzak-like background music service for offices and retail outlets in the city.

The station was acquired in 1960 by Aldred-Rogers Broadcasting Ltd., the company now known as Rogers Radio. In 1962, an AM counterpart, CHFI, which later became highly successful Top 40 music station CFTR, was added.

Don Daynard, also billed as Dazzling Don, is a Canadian radio personality and a former television film critic.

Daynard hosted CHFI-FM's morning drive time show from 1987 to 1999, for much of that time with co-host Erin Davis. Daynard continued to host Saturday Night Oldies for the station until his full retirement in 2003.

Daynard had worked in Toronto radio for decades. In the mid- to late-1960s, he hosted a midday shift at CFGM. In the late 1960s, he hosted the morning show at CKFH. From the 1970s to 1984, he hosted mornings at CKFM, departing in October 1987 for CHFI.

Daynard's voice, portraying a radio announcer, is the first voice heard in the 1982 film Porky's. In 1977, he guest-starred in the Canadian television sitcom King of Kensington.

In the early 1980s, Daynard hosted a television series discussing and reviewing feature films for the Ontario educational television network TVOntario.

Daynard now resides in Cambridge, Ontario, west of Toronto.

While best known as Daynard, his legal surname is spelled "Danard."

Erin Davis is a popular media figure in Toronto, Ontario. At present she is a co-host of 98.1 CHFI's Morning Show along with Mike Cooper. She also appears regularly as an MC or keynote speaker for many local organizations and events in Toronto.

Davis was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1962 to Canadian Air Force officer Don Davis and his wife Maureen. Along with her 3 sisters, Davis's childhood was spent in many different cities, as is typical of an Air Force family. She was raised in Ottawa and Trenton, Ontario, and England. Growing up, she was always interested in music and singing, regularly joining her grandfather's orchestra.

When she graduated from high school (Nicholson Catholic College), she decided to pursue her performing further by studying Radio Broadcasting at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario. While she was there, she also kept busy hosting a radio show on CIGL-FM in the afternoons and playing piano at a local restaurant in the evenings.

After graduating from Loyalist College, was immediately hired by CIGL-FM. Six months later, she moved to Windsor, Ontario to work at CKLW Windsor (aka The Big Eight), where she has the distinction of being the first female co-host in the Detroit market. Davis co-hosted the morning show on CKLW during its final years as a Top 40 station, and, along with many other employees of the station, was laid off in late 1984 when the station went to a mostly-automated Music of Your Life format. From there, she moved to Toronto, Ontario to co-host Good Morning Toronto at CKO Toronto, the flagship station of Canada's all-news radio network. This job led to her big breakthrough, when in 1988 she was asked to join popular morning show host Don Daynard on the CHFI morning show.

Sandy Hoyt (1939 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia – August 5, 2002 in Picton, Ontario) was a Toronto media and radio personality.

He jokingly referred to the Beach Boys as the "Beach Gentlemen" when the band's average age neared 60.

He was morning host at CHFI-FM from 1978 to 1985. Hoyt also worked for radio stations in Chatham, Ontario, Kitchener, Ontario, CJCH in Halifax, CIGO in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia and in Toronto at CFTR.

In addition to co-hosting Canwest Global's annual broadcast of Toronto's Santa Claus Parade from 1985 to 1997, Hoyt also served as announcer on The $128,000 Question from 1977-1978, The Joke's on Us in 1983 and the 1986 revival of Split Second. He died of a brain tumor in 2002 at age 63.
