Biggar may refer to:
Daniel "Dan" Biggar (born 16 October 1989, in Morriston) is a Welsh international rugby union outside-half, currently playing club rugby for the Ospreys. A former Wales Under-20 international, in October 2008 he was selected for the Wales national rugby union team squad for the 2008 Autumn internationals series, making his debut against Canada on 18 November. He is the youngest player to reach 100 games for the Ospreys.
On 18 January 2010 he was named in the 35 man Wales national Squad for the 2010 Six Nations tournament.
Clare Short (born 15 February 1946) is a British politician, and a member of the Labour Party. She was the Member of Parliament for Birmingham Ladywood from 1983 to 2010; for most of this period she was a Labour Party MP, but she resigned the party whip in 2006 and served the remainder of her term as an Independent. She stood down as a Member of Parliament at the 2010 general election. Short was Secretary of State for International Development in the government of Prime Minister Tony Blair from 3 May 1997 until her resignation from that post on 12 May 2003.
Clare Short was born in Birmingham, England in 1946 to Irish Catholic parents from County Armagh, Northern Ireland.[dead link] She would later be supportive of peaceful Sinn Féin initiatives, although she was never a supporter of IRA violence, some of the worst of which was inflicted in a 1974 bombing of her home city of Birmingham.
Short was briefly married to a fellow student at 18 after she had a child at 17. Their son was given up for adoption, and did not make contact with his birth mother until 1996. She discovered that her son was a staunch Conservative who worked in the financial sector in the City of London, and that she was a grandmother of Toby's three children, Sophie, Alice and Emily and had a daughter in law, Annie. Her second marriage, to former Labour minister Alex Lyon, turned to tragedy: he suffered from Alzheimer's disease and died in 1993. Short is a cousin of Canadian actor/comic Martin Short (their fathers were brothers). Her uncle, Patrick Short, was known as the proprietor of Shorts Bar in South Armagh.
Daniel James "Dan" Hall is an Australian musician from Melbourne who has been in two rock bands, Taxiride and Airway Lanes. With Taxiride, as guitarist, pianist and vocalist, he had a top 10 hit on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Singles Chart with "Get Set" and a No. 1 album with Imaginate in 1999 on the related Albums Chart. He left Taxiride in 2001 to work solo, he provided vocals for "Don't Look Back" which was used on TV soap opera, Neighbours and then formed Airway Lanes in late 2004. They released their debut album, In Vino Veritas in May 2008 with its lead single, "Don't Let Go", chosen as iTunes' 'Single of the Week'.
From 1994, Daniel Hall performed as a busker in the local streets of Camberwell and at live venues in Melbourne for three years. In 1997, Tim Wild recruited Hall to meet his friends, Jason Singh and Tim Watson. By 1998, the unnamed group recorded a demo cassette which was given to a taxi driver friend who played it to his passengers. The band asked how it was received whilst on the taxi ride—which inspired the group's name, Taxiride.
