Always Look on the Bright Side of Sprite Life
Always Look on the Bright Side of Sprite Life
YES!!!! I got my new video up today! Ok, I was hoping to have the last two of the Wicked/JatS videos up before now, and I HATE not finishing a video series before I post something different, but this has been in the works for MONTHS! I finished it last night, and would have posted it earlier, but I was busy this morning. Anyway, this will probably be my only Spamalot/JatS video, because the other songs are a LITTLE too inappropriate for this particular show. And half of the songs require more characters than the show has. And besides, none of the songs fit the show as perfectly as this song! This particular video also has special significance. The opening night for Shrek the Musical is in a few weeks. And two of the featured actors are Christopher Sieber (the original Dennis Galahad, who also makes a cameo in this video as the Make-a-Mess Troll, as well as Farquaad) and John Tartaglia (the creator/producer/star of Johnny and the Sprites, the original Rod/Princeton in Avenue Q, and now Pinocchio), the greatest Broadway duo since Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith! Hopefully, they'll be in a number together at the Tony's next year! Until then, enjoy! I own nothing in this video, blah blah blah. The song belongs to the creators of Spamalot, whose names elude me at the moment. And the show belongs to John Tartaglia.

In Spite of Ourselves John Prine Iris Dement
John Prine and Iris Dement sing In Spite of Ourselves, one of the best songs ever by John Prine and one that shows a new side of Iris Dement. Kris Kristofferson lists John Prine among his very short list of favorite performers, along with Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. Prine has dabbled in movie acting, appearing in the John Mellencamp feature Falling from Grace in 1992 and in Billy Bob Thornton's Daddy and Them in 2001. John Prine's song "Crazy As A Loon" was covered by the band Bright Eyes on their 2007 short tour. Before beginning the song at the Washington, DC, show, Conor Oberst stated, "I didn't write this song but sometimes I swear to God I feel like I did." That's exactly how a great song, like In Spite of Ourselves with Iris Dement, makes you feel. 083185 Steve Cebalt Bottom Line Public Relations, Fort Wayne www.bottomlinepr.com www.nonprofitprforum.blogspot.com

Johnny Cash - Man in Black
Johnny Cash - Man in Black
Lyrics: Well, you wonder why I always dress in black, Why you never see bright colors on my back, And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone. Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on. I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down, Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town, I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime, But is there because he's a victim of the times. I wear the black for those who never read, Or listened to the words that Jesus said, About the road to happiness through love and charity, Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me. Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose, In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes, But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back, Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black. I wear it for the sick and lonely old, For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold, I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been, Each week we lose a hundred fine young men. And, I wear it for the thousands who have died, Believen' that the Lord was on their side, I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died, Believen' that we all were on their side. Well, there's things that never will be right I know, And things need changin' everywhere you go, But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right, You'll never see me wear a suit of white. Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day, And tell the world that everything's OK, But I'll try to carry ...

Yellow Rose of Texas ::: Johnny Horton (sorry, make that Bobby) and Lyrics
Yellow Rose of Texas ::: Johnny Horton (sorry, make that Bobby) and Lyrics
Yellow Rose of Texas ... Bobby Horton version is true Southern States style ... most Texan style of the song I reckon As can be seen by the comments I made a big blunder and credited the song to Johnny Horton when it should have been BOBBY. Me baad. Legendary account The song is based on a Texas legend from the days of the Texas War of Independence. Accordingly a woman named Emily D. West — a mulatto, and hence, the song's reference to her being "yellow" — who was seized by Mexican forces during the looting of Galveston, seduced General Antonio López de Santa Anna, President of Mexico and commander of the Mexican forces. The legend credits her supposed seduction with lowering the guard of the Mexican army and allowing the Texan victory in the battle of San Jacinto waged in 1836 near present-day Houston. Santa Anna's opponent was General Sam Houston, who won the battle literally in minutes, and with almost no casualties. Minstrel Version (1858) There's a yellow rose in Texas that I am going to see, No other darkey knows her, no darkey only me; She cried so when I left her, it like to broke my heart, And if I ever find her we never more will part. (Chorus) She's the sweetest rose of color this darkey ever knew, Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew, You may talk about your Dearest May, and sing of Rosa Lee, But the yellow rose of Texas beats the belles of Tennessee. Where the Rio Grande is flowing, and the starry skies are bright, She walks along the ...

Ben Cristovao - Its Christmas, Baby ft. Johnny Kortis (on saxophone)
MediaGroup 2010 production by Johnny Kortis / Milan Spano, lyrics by Yaa Afriyie, saxophone by Johnny Kortis, singing Ben Cristovao Lyrics: Verse 1 Can hardly sleep, excited sneak a peak under the tree. Looking for that special something wrapped up just for me. Scent of cookies bakin momma singing a happy tune. Getting the house all ready family's coming over soon. All the grown ups reminiscing while the children play. Everybody all together for the holiday. These are my favorite memories of christmas cheer. And nothing's changed I feel the same after all these years. Chorus I can't wait til we get together making moments to last forever. Don't you know it's my favorite time of year. It' Christmas baby. Happiness lots of joyful singing. Lights so bright and the bells are ringing. Children waiting anxiously all year. It's Christmas, baby. Verse 2 Ornaments and tangled lights and boxes to sort through. As we laugh and look back at old things that we come to. Putting up the christmas tree together, stayin up late. Wrapping gifts, can't wait to see the look upon their face. Long distance calls to the loved ones far away. Sending pictures of the kids in santa hats all day. We eat together, dance together, love each other that's why I wish these moments could go on forever. Chorus I can't wait til we get together making moments to last forever. Don't you know it's my favorite time of year. It' Christmas baby. Happiness lots of joyful singing. Lights so bright and the bells are ...
